Looking really good mate, gotta get around to removing my battery tray and fitting a new one, mine has rusted through something chronic. For the EF like items in your car it is true that ford did play around a lil bit in trialling the EF stuff, one for example is my ED which is a Feb' 94, It had the bolthole and indentation in the enginebay for the EF/EL fusebox, and where the seats are, they had the extra front seat mounts that changed in EF and EL.

yeah i removed the drivers front 1/4 yesterday and the bolt holes to hold the loom are there, only thing that wasnt, was the 3" hole for the loom to enter the cabin.

I kept my ED ignition barrel and fitted it to my EF column just so I could keep the same key. Strange that your car doesn't have smartlock, maybe it's related to the very early EB2s that had the 4.0L but no smartlock.

as in ignition switch? yes it will plug in ..
but the rest of the column plugs (combination switches) dont, you will need to do a little cut and join..

im happy to do that. since there seems to be no one in QLD wrecking an EF/EL i have decided to just throw the cracked dash in, i dont want to put everything on hold due to that. tho i do still need to find a 3" hole saw that can cut through metal.. im not paying $55 from bunnings.. thats a bloody joke. $55 to 1 bloody hole

You get that sometimes man, you have to buy a tool that at the time seems like you will only use it once, but somewhere down the track you will use it again.

Cheers

That sounds like a pretty good deal man. Hope someone takes you up on it. I'm too far away & don't need a BTR 4spd auto, i have one in the shed atm, looking for a home as well.

Cheers

depending how good you are with your hands?
you can cut the hole by by drilling about 50+ 5mm holes all the way around the area you want to cut then just loin the dots with a hacksew blade and file the edges smooth...

Yep that's what I did and then used my air grinder to finish off. About 15 mins of work.

not much to update, i welt to aldi and bought a set of their hole saws, $20 and bloody hell are they built good. better then the $50 each ones from bunnings thats for sure.

so i cut the hole, fed the loom and sealed it up. i did paint over the sealant but for some reason the pic went walkies.

i also fed the ECU side of things, but its now obvious that i need to extant a heap of wires and cheange some plugs to suit old sensors, like the ABS sensor plugs are different, the ABS unit wiring plug is different, im yet to look into this.

still yet to find another EF/EL dash pad so for now this one will go in as is.

whats left to do:
remove seats and carpet and lay EF body loom
screw the body loom into the box thing to join the looms together.
extent the wiper motor wires
change the plugs on all the ABS sensors
work out how to adapt EF loom to NC ABS unit or swap unit for EF/EL unit
make small cuts below the headlights to allow the loom to run as per EF/EL
adapt the rear tail lights in (i have the EF tail light plugs so it will make it 100 times easier to make an adaption loom to suit.
and obviously screw the dash in and drop the motor in.

there is a reason why work went really slow the last week, i have a second project going on, we picked up a KH laser (not sure if i have mentioned it yet or not) its on LPG and it will be our daily, the wagons on ebay with 1 day left, 11 watchers. so hopefully it sells so i can get the last bits i need for the laser and throw some rego on it.

this is where the different sections of the loom join.. marvelous invention lol

i also seen in the JB hifi catalog that they had cadence subs in box's for $99 so i asked for 2 out of box's and got them for 70 each, not too shabby price considering they wernt on sale, the sale was 99 for the sub with free box so i got $60 total off so i was happy with that. also only SVC im sure i can make it sound good enough for some SPL

the orange on these are insane.. no photo can capture it tho lol

more updates over the weekend
