Was it a statutory write off? If so, only the body is unable to be repaired to be reused. Engine is fine to reuse wherever you see fit.
I know how you feel about getting over it, I've done a lot on my car's of late, seems like all i do atm, but I've made great progress, i have to keep going to get it done. It will piss me off more to leave things not done.... Cheers ToranaGuy

You can use any salvageable parts from a stat write off, but never re-register the shell. If the roof is anything more than damaged by a punch or hail, it will be a stat write off. No big deal tho, you want to reuse the engine, and that will be fine. Cheers ToranaGuy

not much work done at all lol.
i just scored these off ebay, front and rear velor seats from a NF 1 suburb away. got them reasonably priced. tomorrow im heading to jaycar to pick up some more cable glands, as the starter wire which runs through the passenger side kick panel just under the arial hole doesnt have a gland where it runs into the engine bay, i just used an access hole, but decided that its saver to just fork out the $3 and get 2 more plastic ones (as its not near heat they will be fine) i also have a mate helping me out tomorrow to put the motor together and drop in, so we will see how it goes. dad needs the concrete so it has to be running and movable before the weekend ends |

i have also decided to mount the windscreen washer bottle in the boot. due to the fact falcon pumps dont have enough pressure at the best of times, im going to run a wagon tank with dual pumps, wire them in so they both work together, join the 2 hoses via a Y join, and run a single hose to the front where it will then split again into 2 higher pressured jets. this way i dont loose pressure from running the longer distance. i did think to myself, well wagons run the hose to the rear with no issues, but they only run 1 jet which isnt that powerful, most of the time its a trickle.
if i can find a Holden or Toyota style one where the filler has a big neck ill use one of them so i can hid the bottle but show the filler for easy access, or make a hinged door for it to sit on, open the door to fill it. |

Cool idea moving the washer bottle. I was thinking about doing that in my mighty boy, so i can run a bigger air cleaner when i turbo it, was going to hide the bottle in one of the rear quarters, and make one of the side access panels hinged instead of screwed into place.

ill give you a sneak peak.. well no visual unless you close your eyes lol
so the motor and box is together, i picked up a full NF set of velor seats for $99 on ebay, and today i picked up a Fairmont Dash spear, and a full set of Fairmont door trims in velor and rear power window switches for $45. so for $6 less then i was going to pay for a pair of racing seats i have a complete interior. i also picked up some cable glands to suit the 0g wiring to the battery, and i have the power wire all hooked up through the fused distro block. fingers crossed sunday ill get the motor and box in, fill up the oil and filters, drop the battery in, and hit the key and see what happens! i also have a fairlane cluster coming with the 6 gauges, and i have all the sensors here ready from the motor i was given. so basically just need carpet now |
