ok i have internet access again so time for an update

got my seats from ebay $99
Image
velor door trims $45 with switches
Image
Image

wired up the power wires through the fused distro block, 150amp fuse on each line
Image
Image

motor complete and ready to drop in
Image

the starter motor power wire runs through the passenger kick panel under the aerial
Image
the wire doesnt rub but ill be adding a piece of hose around it to make sure it doesnt rub once the inner guard is in

Image

and while i was pulling 3 motors apart to make 1 good one, i found out that a forum member ripped me off even further with the motor i purchased off him. not only was there a bad vibration from the motor above 2000rpm, but the oil pickup was bent and was snapped where it meets the block. and the sump was full of sludge which came from the motor as i had to use my sump on the motor and it was thoroughly cleaned before use.. there was also a few other small things but not worth mentioning.

i had to return the engine crane today to blackers10, but his brother has offered me the use of his. plans were to do it tomorrow but i have been called in to work.. $38 per hour for 6 hours, it pays for my weekend away on the gold coast next month for my birthday :D so fingers crossed i can get it in some time during the week.

I also picked up a chrome rocker cover to go on but i don’t have a pic at the moment

photobucket is down, so i apologize if the pics are stupid...

since i have been working alot to cover people who are sick/on holidays i havnt had the time or energy to work on the car. but good news. the motor and box are in. i didnt have much day light after work but it was enough to get the motor and box in nicely. its bolted in place. tomorrow is a short day at work so ill hopefully get more done.

Image

and then as i went to test everything i found this...

Image

the alternator wire is about 100mm too short... not to worry, its completely removable from the fuse panel, so ill just wire up a new wire as i have plenty of wire left over.

then i tested the new chrome AU rockercover on it. should look awesome when i get a few other bits polished

Hay man you inspired me to re-wire my thermos in the guard...solved s**t loads of issues, and looks way better in the bay.

is it hard to put the fuses in the guard, doesn't the loom get in the way?

well now im working.. my first pay packet will be enough to buy a snort kit.. im not sure if i should or if i should just pick up one second hand. i might have a chat to geoff about a 2nd hand kit. since it has no exhaust at the moment would make things easy lol.

i also want to get a 977B wade cam (billet not regrind) as i was told its also boost friendly.

but ill wait to see exactly how much i get as i have some bills coming up

Personaly id run brand new, looks shinny :D , but if you can make a second handy shine, save some cash man, get some rubber, but ya no whats nice? Snorts manifolds i love em, they look great.
What computer are you gonna run? Im running J3 and apparently there good for turbos, i have a Wade1645 in my EB couse of the AU engine, goes nuts and its the equivalent of a 977b i think. Whats the difference between, billet and grind?

billet is a brand new cam, run it like a factory cam. a regrind uses a 10-20 year old cam thats be ground down and requires shims. if you go back a few pages you will read why i will never go a regrind. it destroyed my tickford motor and snapped the cam bolt

Thats' Odd, I wanna go to a much larger cam but I need a stupid stally but im worried my engine wont handle a bigger cam. I dont know too much about how they work apart from sucking in air and fuel and f@rt out the fumes. I get the longer duration of opening up valves but I dont know if that increases wear or the chance of blowing an engine to s**t because of the increased power

awesome. yeah its good having the wiring hidden, looks much neater.

i have some fun coming for the drivers side of the motor..

picked up a AIT turbo kit from snort performance. pay most of it tomorrow and the rest next pay. so should be here within a month. geoff said the setup is good for a 13 second pass. but i have also been told that BF II GT35 turbo's are T3 flange so i can bolt one of them on later if needed.

i pick up some intercooler piping on wednesday. just need to source a cheap cooler, some V8 injectors and a J3 chip. ill also be buying 2 walbro pumps (as ill setup the surge tank)
