Have you thought about running the EA 6 TCM instead? - no ECU Required then

ahh.. i think its too much wiring for what its worth to be honest. a piggyback or something that i can run with the stock ECU would be best.

i think the easiest, cheaper option is the ti performance j3 chip option...

Agree - the chip is the option. But werent you saying you had an ECU?

The EA TCM should run your 4 speed auto (EA Series II or EB Series One). Not much wiring at all. The only reason Id go that over the EB V8 one is that the 6 Cyl and V8 appear to switch different voltage through the Power/Econ Switch.

In terms of wiring - all the wires you need are already at the ECU connector - you might need to add the additional TPS from an EA.

not much to update.. but i thought i better post something.

been with my partner for 12 months on the 29th so to be nice she bought me a welder. its just an ARC welder but its done the job i needed it for.

i spent half my day off work (spent the first half throwing up as you do after eating out the night before.. stupid dodgy restaurant) cutting and tacking my intercooler piping together. altho at first my welding sucked a** its getting better. but in saying that i havnt touched a welder in 7 years and i have never used an ARC welder, only a mig.

i have half of the cold side tacked up, then i received a package from geoff at snort, (no smiley face on the box this time) which had my turbo to dump pipe gasket (which was mistakenly left out of the kit) it also included the exhaust studs, and a fitting welded onto a welsh plug for the water feed... geoff is a champ, and if anyone is after a turbo kit you cant go past the service i have received from him. thumbsup

you will also notice in the pic that i have some green fittings for the water lines. surprisingly enough they are air fittings, when i was about to head off to buy the fittings i seen a fitting from the air tool kit so i thought bugger it ill see if it fits.. PERFECT!!!! and when i walked into bunnings i need anodized fittings for $2.50 each!!! compared to the speedflow fitting on the welsh plug which was $11!!!! even tho you wont see them much its still a nice touch.

then i had a day with my daughter and it rained so no work on the car, but today after work i received 3 parcels, some more silicon joiners and my F6 injectors :D

only pieces left to purchase now is a fuel pump (have one lined up) and the ECU.

im a little undecided on the ECU, i have been speaking to TI Performance about the J3 chip, but im looking at $215 with tuner, where as $445 from the states will get me a EMS piggyback unit.. so im trying to work out which will be the better choice, if i go the J3 now i know ill need to upgrade in the future but it will get me on the road quicker. the EMS will cut out the middle man but will take longer to get on the road.

Image
a little modding to fit the piping :P

all i need to do now is stretch the sump hole for the return feed, plug in the replacement BCM, and the turbo is ready to bolt on!!!

well i wasnt going to say anything till tonight when i get home, but im about to go pick up an EMS ECU, a dual sport which is the 4484??? or somethings bigger brother.. it will do everything i need it too and more, even has NOS control :P

so ill use it as a piggy back setup so i can keep the BTR for now. should be wired up within 2 weeks along with all the turbo gear on and running :D

Dual sport is really old. Probably not the equivalent of a 4484.

Has it been running a on falcon before?

Im pretty sure sphell tried to fit one into his EF and it didnt work out. That was coil packs though. TFI might be a different story.

it came off a CA18, but research online shows its suitable from 4cyl up to 16cyl and 2 or 3 rotors, its also fully upgradable, so providing that it runs the car ok it should be good enough for now. im not really after huge numbers or anything, just a fun car.

Some info:

Dual Sport 7.05 laptop compatible

Dual Sport
After 11 years of designing engine management products for high performance competition engines, the people at EMS are proud to release the Dualsport series of programmable Engine Management Computers.
This series embraces the latest technology of ISP (In System Programmability) together with the Motorola Microprocessor, enables it to reconfigure itself for most engines.
Together with the powerful 3D graphical interface, or the Intelligent Interface, the Dual Sport has the power of extreme flexibility and ease of use. The 3D surface graph enables the tuner to get an instant visual representation of the engine's fuel and ignition curves. This visual feedback quickly shows any erroneous data so tuning becomes faster and safer. The graph can be rotated and zoomed to any degree to enhance further detail. The analogue style gauges display real time engine data giving more information at a glance.
EMS has integrated a Data Logging system that the user can call up at a press of a button. The powerful Data Logging application, will log up to 10 selectable parameters, e.g. Rpm, Throttle position, Air/Fuel ratios, etc. and display them in text or graphical format. After logging, the data can be studied in closer detail to see the engines behaviour during any time period of the logging session.

Main Features
• Future Upgradability
• Dual engine setup o Capable of storing 2 separate engine configurations.
• Real Time Programming o Using Hand Piece or Windows lap top program, with uploading and downloading facility.
• Data Logging o User configurable time based graphical trends display with zoom.
