Just get in there, get all the hanging stuff sorted, then flat tow it the 500m?

I know what it's like working in dirt/mud, half my front yard is dirt & mud atm. :( Maybe this summer I will concrete it in....

Cheers

mmmmm concrete lawn *drool* no mowing *drool*

i was tempted to do it but with the front not bolted on correctly still i think it would be safer on a truck lol. besides i need this laser done. i dont think i have posted a pic of it yet...

Image

i have a full bodykit but its currently on ebay as i like it but its not really a fast car.. and it is on LPG after all lol

The front yard part i plan to concrete in was probably supposed to be lawn, but i use it as driveway, as it's next to my current driveway, and a good parking spot lol!

That laser would sure be cheap to run on LPG!

Cheers

Damn man, that's huge, how many ltrs does it hold, 50 odd?

I have had evil thoughts about converting the mighty boy to LPG injection & getting the megasquirt to run it. Only problem is I can't afford the hardware, and I have almost all the hardware for a good hi performance petrol setup....

Cheers

not 100% sure on the size but its the same as a falcon.. and if a falcon gets 400k's to a tank im sure a small 4cyl will get even more :P

ok, last night i borrowed a trailer that my mate hired as he blew the gearbox in his dads AU.. so i jumped in my dads AU (seems to be a trend) and took the trailer and towed the fairlane up to the new house.

was a b**ch to get it on, the front bumper and intercooler had to be removed to get it on. there was about half a mm clearance from the bumper bracket...

today i went down and started to clean it out, found a pile of tools lol. once most of it was out i decided to tidy up the boot wiring as it was pissing me off.

i wired in the interior lighting (which should now allow smartlock to start the car)
soldiered up the wires for the fuel release but turns out the unit itself is rooted so i need another one.
i taped on some loom holders and put everything in its place. i also decided to start on the positive wiring and safety cut but the jogsaw has the wrong black and it didnt to flat cuts. so ill use this one as a template.

the shiftlight idea was ditched and im tempted to move the boost gauge. its good there but might get annoying.

to do to get it started:
replace welsh plug
screw in oil feed
extend the coil pack wires and plug it in where factory airbox was
then it should run again.

once i get it running again ill focus on fixing the intercooler piping, use the left over stainless to replace the black section under the bonnet, and shorten the bumper piping. im going to use the current piping and mock up some pipes

intercooler - 45 bend upto indicator - 45 bend then it will bend into the engine bay.. that way less piping and it will all be one piece with mandrel bends.

i also had another member pop up with some LTD C-Pillar glass that ill install one day.

Image
Image

this is how the wiring started
Image
and now ignore the factory sound deadner crap stuck to the floor, i need some dry ice to get it off
Image

Image

and to show how big man land is...
Image

soo much space.. its awesome. all i need is a TV and some aircon down there and id be set lol

i should have an update in the next few days with it running again.

i almost forgot... my mate gave me some BA XR6T parts including the stock cat. so for now im going to run the 3" inlet and see if the cat can be drilled out to twin 2.5" outlets. if not ill be running the twin 2.25 for about 2 feet then step it up to twin 2.5's so later n wn the track if i upgrade the car ill have most of the twin 2.5" system already there.

Nice update, man land looks rather large! I wish my "man land" was that big, I don't have much more room in there than to fit 2 car's & a couple of small benches & some parts......

Cheers

lol man. I called my flat in Bendigo "Man Land" after a mate dubbed it that. Probably cause it didn't have much in there, just the essentials. No crap..... lol.

I wish it wasn't so damn cold tonight, i would have gotten in the shed for a bit.....

Cheers

i just got home from work so not much to update on.. but i did get some work done earlier today... just small crap like removing the under section of the hand brake cable so now nothing drags on the ground (except exhaust lol) and i also connected up the selector setup so now i have trans brake lol the only thing stopping it from rolling away the past 3 months has been a brick lol.

the front is up on stands and tomorrow ill tackle the oil feed bits. easy enough to do but i want the cable a little tighter as it almost touches the bonnet at the moment, so ill be routing it past a runner towards the rear of the motor to take up some slack.

i also found my LPG heater adapter thingy (pics will show what i mean) it screws into the thermostat housing and the tamp sensor runs off that leaving a nice big 13mm hose fitting. so now im in the hunt for a 13mm to 10mm barbed adapter so i can run the water feed to the turbo.

once this is sorted and the welsh plug is replaced it will be ready to start again.

once its running (without piping) ill then wire up the ECU, but im having second thoughts on this ECU... im thinking i might just throw a J3 chip in for now until i can work out wiring up a dizzy setup or finding a way the Dual Sport will work with the EF crank angle sensor (too many teeth on the balancer...

Image

i also took a few minutes to give the old girl a sponge bath.. i done the boot channeling and around the engine bay as i cant get it outside to wash it at the moment this is the next best thing.

there is no rust to be seen on the car apart from where the scuff panels wore through the paint on the rear door section..
