Far out Huggie, been a busy boy! Nice score on the LTD.

The daily on LPG will help your hip pocket, that's for sure. I still have not had the time to sort why my LPG isn't running very well on the Ghia, and that's hurting my hip pocket to the tune of about $70 a week more than what LPG would be costing me. When you ain't got the time, you ain't got the time right?

I'll get the new radiator in the mighty boy soon & drive that as my daily for a bit, save some money on petrol and give me time to have the Ghia off the road. I've got a few days off work coming up, so I will be getting a few things sorted! Hell, if I got the red EB Xr8 done, that's on LPG & would be cheaper than my Ghia on petrol to run lol.......

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Looking very nice man, amazing what a clean up can do aye.

Two questions though,

1) What Was all that wiring for?
2) How do the orion speakers sound? been thinking about getting a pair because they come in a 5x7".

Nice cleanup job, esp on the wiring! If i wasn't busy with other more important jobs I'd clean up the wiring under the hood of the Ghia, but for now it works, and other jobs like the radiator upgrade on the mighty boy are more important. Priorities! lol....

Keep up the good work man!

Cheers

1) 2 car phone kits, car alarm (which was no longer in the car) and random wires going to no where.. all the wires that were added to the battery were not needed... i thought they were for the LPG system but i was wrong lol

Gotta love removed car alarms. I still have a bit of wiring in my Eb Ghia from a now non existant car alarm. f**k didn't remove it properly, just the main bits & hid the rest away.

Oh, I found some EB trans lines yesterday while cleaning up, so now I have another little job to do lol.

Cheers

lol i just removed a heap more.. thinking it was from the LPG system i left them there, but i removed the airbox to detail under it and thought i might as well remove the relays from the car and clean under them, as i was undoing them i noticed a roll of wires with taped ends... so i followed the other ones.. again nothing, then noticed the thermo switch with no wires and the sensor shoved behind the indicator.. ended up being 1 wire to the aircon pump and the other stealing power from the LPG relay... so i have a thermo wiring setup if i choose to put them in (of bloody cause i will lol) but for now its removed.

im also on the hunt for the following:

EA style single belt alternator
EA-ED style lower airbox...seems the car had a LPG backfire at some stage which destroyed the lower half..

If you were close by, I've got a bottom piece of an airbox you could have, but it wouldn't be worth posting it up to you lol.

Cheers

ok so today i decided to start on the roof rust, removed the rubber cover, scraped it back and put on the rust converter... due to the rain its taken all day to dry so im allowing it to dry before going any further. so to kill time i decided to get rid of the stick tied to the fuel rain apparently holding the dizzy in place, in which i found out was only holding one side of the cap down, i removed the LPG setup and airbox to gain access only to find the clip has gone MIA.. so i grabbed a spare dizzy and pulled a clip off, 30 minutes later of swearing i finally got the bloody thing to stay in place. which i was mucking around with it all i decided to clean under the airbox.. sure it wont be seen but since it was out id do it.

i then went to clean under the relays and started poking around to see where the wires went.. turns out they are another useless piece of wiring lol, they were a thermo setup complete with temp switch all sitting there doing SFA! so i removed it all as im not putting thermos in yet... ill do it once its on the road...

i also added an extra 8g wire from the alternator to the battery and an earth from battery to the bolt under the header tank, and another from the intake manifold to the airbox bolt. after seeing that there only seems to be 1 tiny thin wire to the block on the drivers side should help with any earth issues.
Image
as you can see this is the reason the alternator isnt charging... oil all over the alternator, i was aware of an alternator issue before i bought the car but was hoping it would be an easy fix or id have a spare but seems i dont...

and since the airbox was doing absolutely nothing with it smashed from a LPG backfire and blocked filter i threw a pod filter on there so no creepy crawlies get in before i get a new box and panel filter..
Image

so now i have a list of things i need t look at.
there is no RPM signal
no temp signal
handbrake cable needs to be tightened as it does nothing at all
boot latch from EA/NA

apart from that once the rust is fixed i only have to change over the rear tyres with others i have then its all good for RWC...
