Not a bad effort at all. I've done an engine & auto swap from one Hj pano into a Hz pano, running & all in 15mins flat with only 1 mate helping lol. Would have been funny to watch, we were flying thru it. Helps that the kingswoods have a removable nose cone & rad support, makes the swaping so easy...

Cheers

my XD had a single mil-spec bulkhead connector - unscrewed it, disconnect exhaust fuel and throttle and pull engine. Id pre-wired the 5.8 so it was ready to go.

All the time was in prep/paint on the bay. Miss that car!

if i had the money and the parts ready to go i could do it fast also but there is a few more important things that i have to pay for at the moment.. like bills :(

on other things i found a rough spot in the bay im not happy with, so im going to give it a light sand then clear the whole bay which will fix the issue.

i was also thinking some green pearl that i have here. it would make the bay really stand out and tie in the green from the rest of the car.. thoughts?

awaiting tax. new plans for it tho. throw it together and get a tune which will be safe and enjoy it. i have another kid on the way now so priorities are finding a new daily/family car. a wagon. the lane will stay but the motor wont get fully done up like i had wanted. but it will still have ~250rwkw

tax should be back into my hands in the next week or so then its all go

ok a sneak peak of what i have been up to the last few nights then...

RCA audio and video input, USB charge only ports 1000mA each (suitable for iphone and HTC)
the car will have 4 cameras mounted around the place for recording purposes so i can make youtube videos. so with this i have mounted 4 switches in the console also. as it will only be a weekender i dont really need to worry about space in there.
Image

i also went on a cruise with the car club on the weekend and had some pro shots done. here is 2 sample images.

ok time for an update since i have something worthy of posting.

bought a J3 and tuner chip from TI Performance, metal AU head gasket, Valve springs from Turbo Logic Racing, silicon joiners, head bolts and a few other bits and pieces... what does this mean? its FINALLY getting built and put in.

i have a mate going to do a tune on the car so it can be taken around the block without blowing up, then once i see all is safe on the car it will return to the garage until a proper tune can be done.

brake lines except the drivers front have been put in. wiring is pretty much completed now, just a few small things to change.

my current daily (DA LTD) is getting de-rego'd tomorrow and my new daily (EF GLi Classic) will be put on the road. due to expanding family it was decided the DA had to go due to rust/safety. The festiva was also sold due to size issues.

ETA on motor built to go into the car 2 weeks, actually getting it into the car a little longer due to waiting on gearbox seals and lending hands

only things left to get are injectors (have some lined up but waiting to hear when i can get them) and a 3" cat. i believe thats all i need now.

the new daily

i also had a play around with a factory uncut bumper as i have to lift the intercooler higher due to the 3" piping as before the 2.5 JUST fit.
