there is a bit of confusion on my bottom end i was suposed to be getting. a mate tried to buy it. so i have to try and hold my ground and get it as he has 2 motors and just wants this one as its already apart

Fair enough mate. Manual really does bring the falcons alive. The only thing I dont like is that you can really feel the slack in your driveline with old diffs etc. Im gonna whack some thicker oil in my diff to hopefully help the problem a bit.

Hope the 'lane gets registered soon - it looks sweet as.
Maybe you should put an AU motor in your lane instead of the el ticky one (depending on how much ur getting the ticky one for). The au motors pull hard and are much smoother than EA-ED/NA-NC ones.

This has been a really good thread to watch. Keep the updates coming :>

the EL bottom end has 20 000k's on the clock.. find me any other AU or before motor that has that... and be under 300 bucks ;)

the ticky head (if i can get it off my mate) is 300 (with all the crow cam bits) so for under 2000 bucks (including T5 and clutch) ill be running 14's

Yeah dude smart move the shifter is a big job... and yeah the AU motor idea is a good idea.....its a way better feel then the previous motors...stronger smoother.. last longer.. more balls i rekon..mostly top end though i love my au motor they are so cheap too dude, you can get one on ebay low k's for like $400 and its in Brisbane...Monte street just off moss st in slack creek.

well its almost got everything fixed up for RWC... it failed due to the following

steering wheel soft
RR window wont go up or down (not an issues as RWC requires 50% of them to work one being the drivers)
right hand number plate light blown
T bar button
rear disc rotors need machining
right hand toe rod end
l and r lower ball joint covers :S
Left tie rod arm
left steering rack boot (was told to put a zip tie on it)
engine leaks
and.... the brake proportion valve clip... ill let you answer that one for yourself

the following has been fixed:
organized for a power window switch (known this issue all along)
replacing globs... a whole 50 cents...
T bar button ended up being a snapped pin so it wasn't locking into any gear... glad they found that issue, its now been swapped with the one i had from the EA and not lines up for the right gear. it used to say D but be in 3rd.
new rear rotors that i had sitting around and also found that the passenger side caliper was seized so i replaced that with one from one of my 2 spare LSD's
i have a recon'd steering rack here from a wreck i bought. i also bought new tie rod ands, steering rack boots and ball joints (upper and lower) are on their way to me.. picked up the set from ebay for $2 upper and he threw the lower in for 20 total (inc postage)

the engine leak i didn't think there was one as i had just finished the head gasket i thought it was left over oil... but upon moving it out of the carport i found a puddle... the end result was the oil pressure switch was leaking.. 1 drip every 10-15 seconds so thats getting fixed when the steering rack gets replaced.

and if you havnt clicked on the brake proportion valve clip yet thats because there is no such thing on a falcon/fairlane... what he was referring to was the bar for the self leveling suspension. its a small bar that goes from the arm on the diff to the little box so when the car drops the pump kicks in and lifts the car up to stock height. as i removed the SLS shocks there was no need for this bar as if i lower the car the pump will run non stop... so ill take it to someone else to get done.. someone who actually knows fords...

na im not pressing them myself. i wish i could.. save me some $$$...

the rack ends are easy, they screw off.. but the new ones have a grease nipple seperate in the pack and i gont know if i have to grease them myself of just put the nipple in...

yeah it is a small list, but i done a fair bit to it before hand... head gasket was a pain but the front rotors were most costly...

we finally got rain so it could be early next week before i get a chance to use the carport (leather lounge under there and cant get it wet due to price of the things)

i dont know if i should remove the arm and take it to get the ball joints pressed in or just take the car...

also if i can find some hub adaptors for the front ill put the AU XR 5 spokes back on (see sig pic) as my brother just bought 20's for his AU XR6...

he might be buying a BF GT, as he is making too much money and his boss said he either pays the money to the tax man or pays it on a new expensive car... so this way he ends up virtually with a free GT :) mmm GT rims

here is whats getting made up for me... still working out the sizes (want the boot lid one bigger) and i still have to design a few more... also i hate the door handle ones so im going to redesign them...

they are getting done in reflective gold (gold leafing) but will be done out of vinyl... im also getting the door strips colour coded with new, either gold or chrome inserts, or gold with a chrome pattern through it... it all depends on how much my gf's parents charge me to do it :)

i have done a mockup with print outs, and now ill just resize a few and modify them and then ill send the files off to be done

i got me a bargain... my mate bought a new touch screen for his AU XR6. and gave me his old screen for free for installing it for him, then said 50 bucks for the sony (i hate sony) dvd player...

so the plan is to use these untill i save a bit of cash, sell the sony and the JVC headunits and buy the JVC DVD headunit. so soon ill install the units to the car... have to do some mods to make them all fit.
