It's a 1976 Chrysler CL Valiant i am currently restoring. The SVO has been put on the back burner.
I originally bought it about 2 years ago for $750 from a local Valiant nut. he had about 20 of them on his property and was moving interstate so he sold them all. I got this. The old man got 2 K11 police cars but has since sold them. When i bought it i was all keen and rebuilt the carby, new water pump, hoses, plugs, leads etc to get it to run nice. But then it sat around for 18months doing nothing and the rust got to it. Then i attempted to sell it for $1000. But after like 5 people saying it was f**k (which it isn't) my old man said today at about lunch time to pull it in the shed and lets fix it. first of all. the car in it's original state:

I phucking love Valiants.
I cannot get enough of them The 265 engine is so tough sounding, and goes hard out. Mum had a 245 Pacer back in the day, with a 265 dropped in. 4 on the floor, that thing went hard. You should whack a 318 in,

both the RH doors have big dents in them so they are being scrapped and i have to straight spares to use. the LHR door has heaps of filler in it so i'm chasing one down to use.
plans are to respray it in heritage red. lower it 2" over a set of 14x8 CL GLX wheels. darkest legal tint the windows. white rear window venetian. 350 holley. extractors with a 2.5" exhaust and cruise

Coooool.
My first cars were all Valiants. VE Wagon - Slant Six VE VIP Sedan - 318 then 360 Chrysler by Chrysler - Parts Car VJ Sedan - 318 then 360 with the C x C front end VG VIP - 318 VJ Ute - 265 + 4 speed CM GLX - 265 Auto Now wishing I had kept a few of these as the demand good money now. And more importantly would make cool cruisers. Keep up the good work. Cheers BenJ

my mate had a val panel van his dad left him when he died, was impact orange i think, 265 and extractors exhaust etc, we were only 11 driving it round the yard thinking one day itl be a nice cruiser, but it got rust so he sold it, we started putting one of his dads wrecked val utes together with a manual but ended up selling it half repaired
