I think your old man has the best possible idea of what you could do with it.

What you could do is strip it, roll-cage, racing harness. ENTER SALOON RACING? 8-)

It really depends on what you want to learn???

panel beating/spraypainting etc
pulling bits apart and putting it back together again...

Start out basic and progress to more advanced stuff....
I do like to see people giving it a go, regardless on what the car is...

I learnt on old Holdens, easy to work on, and simple to fix....

On my second car I ever owned (HK Holden) I did my 1st Engine swap, 1st Gearbox, 1st diff, 1st paintjob, Did simple mods like put Premier heater & fan, exhaust mags etc etc that car taught me alot!!!! and I still havent stopped playing with cars some 25+ years later.....

well take that $300 and keep it aside and buy a cheap car that you want and try earn some extra cash somehow.....

Never limit yourself as to what you can and cant do, have a go....

here is a couple pics I ask you to think about in what is possible given some time and effort....

This was an AU Xcab I bought in 2007 on ebay
Image

2 years of mates selling me bargains, luck, bargains on ebay and some hard work on my part (all work done by me)...
It turned into this.... Taking out 2009 SA AFD in its catagory...

Image

Its hard to Imagine it was once just a Yellow Victorian Xcab no body wanted....
It shows what is possible, whats the harm in trying?, what have you got to lose?... nothing....
You just have to give it a go.....
