Hi guys,
I'm new on here. My boyfriend Sam (MoNGooSE) is often talking about fordmods and I've been a member for a while but only so I could see things he wanted to show me! I've been driving my parents old Sigma for the past 2 years but today I bought MY first car! It's a 1996 EL Fairmont Ghia! I payed $2800 and I love it! It does have a couple of little body issues and a slightly worn out drivers seat but apart from that it is faultless to drive and fully optioned with EVERYTHING working Here's what it's got... Drivetrain: - 310,000km - 4.0L Tickford I6 with duel fuel (new gas system) - 2.5" sports exhaust (quiet, no drone, but a nice note) - LSD Exterior: - Minor car park dingle on rear wheelarch - Clear coat coming off front and rear bumpers - Panels are all straight and tidy, no rust - 16" Mag Wheels - Lowered with Pedders low springs and shocks Interior: - Full leather pack + premium sound - Driver's seat showing 300,000km's worth of wear - Climate control AC Here's the pics off the ad... These two pics show the little rub mark on the front and damage to the wheel arch Hope you like it! Erin.

We all know head gaskets can go at anytime. Look after her, and i'm sure u have another 300,000 odd kays clocked up in no time. More pics!! Cheers Daz

Whats the "To Mod" list?
Tell mongoose that as your not sure of it's service history do all the essentials, Engine Oil + Filter, Transmission Oil + Filter, Diff Oil, Spark Plugs, anything he thinks neccessary, don't forget to watch him, that way you can kick him when he does it wrong . I think thats a good pick up for 2800, yeah, there might be abit of rust, and yeah, the leather might be worn out, but all in all, it's fixable, and if you can both do the work yourselve's, it's a good learning curve. Did it come with Rego+RWC???? (Roadworthy Certificate), dunno what the Roadworthy's are like in SA. Again good pick up .

Looks good overall, just with the bunch of little things to do. Been there, done that. Get more pics up.
And get some EL Ghia Rims back on it, those 16's are f**k ugly. Its hard to find good cars for a good price here in SA. |

The leather is like new in the back but cracked a fair bit in the front. Especially the drivers seat. Nothing to worry about though. I can always get a set of covers like Sam has in his car. {USERNAME} wrote: Do you have any idea on how well the motor has been looked after? We all know head gaskets can go at anytime. Look after her, and i'm sure u have another 300,000 odd kays clocked up in no time. The motor has been looked after extremely well. It looks like new under the bonnet. Anything mechanical that has broken has been fixed straight away. The guy that sold it to me has had it for 130 000km. He does work all over SA so clocks up a lot of highway miles. It's had minor been services every 10 000km and major services every 50 000. Sam said this is by far the best E-series he's seen for the amount of km's it's done (except for his of course....) {USERNAME} wrote: Whats the "To Mod" list? Nothing on the To Mod list as of yet. I want to get all the little things fixed and then get the paint gone over and fixed up. Tinting and maybe a Tickford kit would be the first things I wouldn't mind doing... Just so everyone knows... There is NO "rust" on the car. The bit of rust in the picture is simply because the bare steel has been exposed for too long.
