Hey everyone,
haven't made on of these build threads before, and i've had a few substantial cars even though i'm only young. Anyway, started with me having my first car on my L's when i was 16, a EA S pack manual with wank zorst (4" Canon) which i had for 3 months after the clutch was gone, which i then swaped for a clean EF futura. After being pulled up on my Learners numerous times driving around my EF futura with snort stage 3 turbo kit, and spool pistons, xr6t rods, headwork and standard tickford cam with 3" exhaust that my dad and i had built together, i decided that rather than keeping it, i'd upgrade so i sold the car for $4500 in October 2010 with rego but no road worthy and went on the hunt for something a little newer. (only a casual cashier at Safeway!) i settled for a unmolested series 2 au SR which was driven by an elderly couple, full service history and 98,000 kms! *when i got it and started moding Attachment: 9549g12_20[1].jpg Attachment: 17102011384.jpg Attachment: 23112011404.jpg

I dont have all the photos but i decided to spend big on parts! i odered the biggest cam i could get which was 317 in and 309 exh 110 LSA and .544 lift! added double valve springs, vernier gear, head work (port and polish) 3500rpm hi stall, LSD with 3.7s with j3 chip, and xr6t rods cause they fitted made a nice 170-173rwkw on consecutive dynos which i was pretty happy about! Anyway,
thats how the car stayed for the next 15months while i was studying hard at school once i got my P plates, i finally started the process up slightly again. however! something terrible happened, which i will discuss a little later and with photo's! here's a couple more photo's of the car and some of the mods Attachment: 007.JPG Attachment: 082.JPG Attachment: 402414_151611088289611_100003221632748_198375_1727831567_n[1].jpg Attachment: 1002651fo5[1].jpg Attachment: 17052012006.jpg Attachment: IMG_0360.JPG Attachment: IMG_4193[1].jpg Attachment: DSC_0263.JPG So one night when i was staying at a friends house and had to park outside! i woke up and went to get in the car and leave to find out some little *%$^#%^ had stolen my four Decorsa wheels! i went into a fit! and aami insurance wouldn't pay out the full amount on the rims which retailled $4400 so i was stuck with horrible stockies! and $500 from insurance! and the police never got back to me about the mags which was a pain in the a*** cause i loved them wheels! they were different! on the hideous stockies that never gripped!

I am also thankful for my dad who took the car to his workshop and started to fix the car and had it driveable within a day! and then i moved to the darkside as i had so many sweaks and the car was shocking to drive, so it returned to dads shop and we started assessing the damage. it cost $3000 in parts to make the car 100% which doesn't include labour as we did it ourselve's. so without a car, i had to borrow my missuses car as she lost her license. and unfortuantely it was a holden vt pos! Also i would like to say that anyone who makes fun of au falcon cars, i praise them and regard them highly as the car did what it could to make the damage at that speed and hit as safe as possible and i walked straight out and had nothing wrong ith me! and i am also highly regarding the au series as a very strong car! even though my car has had a lot happen to it, i can not physically bring myself to sell it! therefore i decided never to get rid of it. here are some more photo's. anyways, after 6 long months of waiting for parts and fixing the car i finally am able to drive it today with no problems and issues. So after my mum carrying on like mothers do about getting a safer car,
i decided to look at the auctions in Melbourne (Fowels, which is Manheim now i think?) anyway so i came home $3000 poorer, but with this little beast Attachment: IMG_0010.JPG Attachment: 427920_382177151854643_974213163_n[1].jpg Attachment: 579555_382176655188026_1970733613_n[1].jpg Attachment: DSC_0253.JPG Attachment: DSC_0257.JPG put the stockies on it with new tread and went to take it to get a rwc. the car had 145,884 kms on it, full service history, imacualte interior, and great body. anyway, in the nature of being a totally waste of money, the car needed a v.i.v inspectin for water damage, which also mean't they checked the undercarriage and etc to notice a few rust holes. and the floor pan was rusted as well. had to get that fixed $900 later, and still no roady or viv. the wiring was appranently (shorting on something) and i then decided it was going to be a pain in the a$$ and wrecked this poor beauty on a bright note, i used the good parts on the red au, and made my money back! now i'm driving the au with lots more work done to it, and its gone in for a new respray again and new exhaust as the old one was sounding like a tractor! however, i am now the owner of a beautiful series 3 xr8 manual which is currently at my dads workshop under cover and not coming out until i get my fulls! but i do start and get it driven by my old man every week! man i love the sound of a windor v8 You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yeah have had a few, i forgot my skid car which is just a el fairmont but its nothing to talk about really just something to take to events out my way. Yeah i love the XR8, sucks i have to wait a long time to drive it on the road but it's definitely worth it! I will have to get some pics of the beast and upload for sure.
Yea right on the money been through so many cars in such a early stage of life and all nice fords at it I like the red AU that is a bucket load of power for a NA that cam would sound mega tough would you have a sound clip of it / video ?
Thanks mate, yeah not too bad! definitely have plans for the red one to make it look better, such as tickford kit from either series 1-3 and custom bonnet which my old mans in the process of working out. Yeah it's definitely a good weapon to have on the streets. especially cause its an AU. um i don't think i have any videos of it just idling, but will deffinitely take one when i get the car back. It's lumpy as but its also bad in a way because even with a tune it still wants to stall 80% of the time. Atlas600 wrote: i'm super jealous of the red AU it looks good, want to respray mine to that colour.. Thanks mate, yeah i love the red colour. will look better once the respray is re-done and polished, but will put pics up once its all done. should shine! well i hope
