small update, visual mods are on hold for now. i had my brake rotors machined for the 3rd time last week (below their limit) and experienced total brake failure the other day coming home, by total failure i mean i got absolute f**k all.. pedal was still stiff but i was just getting a grinding/thumping feeling through the front of the car.

been running around all week getting DBA Slotted rotors priced up, have to make the decision tomorrow whether i can afford the 4000 series or stick to the street series which will still kill ford brakes.

got pulled up a couple of weeks ago with stockies on the rear, 1 was bald blown headlight and a few stupid other things that were BS.

XR6T catback went on last week, i changed a headlight globe today, that was an hour job. had to remove the f'ing airbox. cleaned the whole car out and fixed the spelling of the mats and the footwell neons.

paying for my new brake set up tomorrow, my mate whos helping me get them at a cheaper price talked a bit of sense into me so DBA 4000s all round and bendix ultimates has turned into :

DBA 4000 series slotted front
DBA street series slotted Rear
Bendix CT pads all round

my mechanic told me this afternoon he would have gone CTs over ultimates anyway as their better for the brake rotors and his exact words "lets face it were not stopping a turbo or an 8 here" which i have to agree.

also got my leather console lid and handbrake cover tonight for $60, still working out the handbrake cover but heres the console lid.

excuse the coffee dripped all down the side of the handbrake cover.. i figured since it was going anyway why bother.

Look at it this way, if you can generate the money that you spend on your hobby, then there's nothing wrong with it...far better than spending it on drugs or other such negative things.

Well done on the progress!

well thats it mate, im still living at home and my car is the only thing i have to look after so what else is there to spend on..

brakes are being fitted next thursday aswell as a minor service with brake fluid, coolant and ATF being done. not at ford this time

bought car with 68 000km windscreen sticker said service at 73000, i serviced at 72 500. the service book said minor service at 75 000.

so i looked at my windscreen last night, ford have stickered it with 80 000. log book shows next service is a major at 90 000. theiving bastards. they can get stuffed.

painting my brake calipers tomorrow.
i just need to spray some degreaser on them, clean that off. paint clear coat and that it? ive been told dont worry with a clear coat but my mate used a clear coat on his one.

Nice looking ba. I was going to point out the spelling on the floor mats, James's xr haha you think they would know basic grammar.

Any damage in the storm or just needed a clean?

i have found the **** stiring factor of the extra S very amusing.. people getting all worked up over a letter so ive decided to leave it on the thread haha.

got called into work again today. i had a guy at work ask me why ive got 1 red caliper.. it does look stupid with 1 red caliper :(

ive got tomorrow off so i will hopefully get the last 3 painted before i head into work for a training session..

At least the extra s isn't on the car any more, I was going to paint my calipers red cause it looks sweet, but I run on 20's and it draws attention to how little the brakes are so ill just leave them.

Will look mad with all four done, I can imagine would look strange with just one done.
Good work.

i was surprised how far away i can notice the red calipers. one of the areas i work in means im sitting at a window facing the car park. it looks hot :) till i look at the rear one. im tempted to jack the car up now and put it on stands, mask everything up and leave it on stands till first light then get painting.

on anything else really looks tacky, why not polish them up like fordfreak's BF, or even just paint them black?
