I have driven it on the street for abit over 2 years. It was fine, my stally is quite tight tho, makes it feel alot better to drive. Now I'm going all out with this engine. It was only going to be rods, pistons, cam and valve springs but it ended up being miles as well...

Been there, done that....

I fixed my sync sensor issues. I adapted an AU crank sensor to the EF sync body. Going good so far. When you goin to eastern creek again??

Cheers

Thanks Burns,

Once i fit all the new gear in, i will take it down short after it's first tune but i'm not in no big rush. I will let you know when i'm racing next tho. I'm hoping by the end of the year, if not sooner...

Change of plans.. Tomorrow we are heading down to Vic to pick up a Mk1 Cortina which has been tubed, 9" and four link etc...
Turbo and manifolds are up for sale...
The new SOHC forged engine is going into the Cortina with C4 auto from Fairmont...
Engine,Garret T04Z turbo, intercooler is up for sale..
Except C4 auto..Couldn't resist a lighter car which is set up for v8...
Hopefully we won't have too many issues fitting a 6 in there??
Graeme..

What a trip the bloody trailer couldn't be towed faster than 85KPH empty..
The track of car was narrow for trailer so we fitted up some 8X2 boards and tied it down..
Checking every 20 Min..

we paid a fare sum for it but if we got the work done it would have cost about the same as the car... My diff cost me $5500 all up which didn't include suspension, cage etc..

It's very light .. Two of us pushed it up the driveway surprisingly easy...

The previous owner started this build 10+ years ago ..
Then bought an AC Cobra replica...
His Cobra is a top car and he lost interest in the Cortina....

It's a mk1 Cortina. Looks like it will be an awesome drag car!

What happened to the eb returned to street use only?
Years ago a mate of mine put a v6 Capri engine into a mk1. Used to drive to the drags, drop the exhaust and change the tyres, drag the car for the meet then changed it all back to drive home. Drove it around Perth for a while till he got pulled over by the cops. Decided to make it into a dedicated drag car, got married and sold it instead.
What engine are you putting into your Cortina a v6 or the eb's 6 or a 6 from something else, Either way it should fly!!!
The eb looked good a lot of work went into it, sad to read you sold a lot of the goodies in it

Cheers
Geoff
