Hey there mate,

Ive done my full rebuild about 11k ago on my ef xr6, Just looking at your shots of the slugs do you know if they are standard for that engine, just curious as i wanted to go to a much bigger cam but not sure how much clearance im gunna have. If they were the standard slugs it gives me and idea as to the clearance i will have, cause the new slugs i put in look identical to the ones in the photo's.

Cheers Joel

Just a thought for you. When you pull the motor out, or put it back in, leave the gearbox attached, save a lot of work. Works well with the BTR Auto so can see no reason the T5 should present any problems. Makes them a lot easier to fit up when you are not flat on your back under the car.

lol beat me to it :P. You can srsly pull a motor in about 2 hrs or less if you leave the G-Bag on. I have a T5 and it works too :P. Saves pulling manifold off to get to starter and those 2 poofter bolts behind the head on the passenger side. Still have to do the heater lines but they aren't that bad.

Its funny how the humble mid 90s Falcon can still show cross hatching from honing in the bores after 16 or so years!
Even though the heads have a tendancy to blow they have a bullit proof bottom end!

Did you get the head done at Easy Motors, Top Of The Block or elsewhere? What did it set you back?

The head was serviced by easy motors after the porting, ill have to get back to you on who ported it as my mate who is going to tune the car organised it and i can remember the name of the place that did it, all up with the porting of the head, port match on the exractors and head service came in just a touch under 2k
