I think the single cab style is going to look so much better than the duel cab version..
not that the duel cab looked bad... :) I just like the single cab style better...

I agree very much so Troy.
When I did the dual cab one I was trying to keep it as friendly as possible for nephews and nieces etc.
But in the whole time I had it the only people that had ever sat in the back of it were Wade , Chris , Stacey and Edzies teenage kids.
So this time I went f**k it Ill do it the way I ultimately want.

This thing is gonna be tops, love reading the updates. I hate taking you away from your s**t to help with my s**t, but thank f**k I have mates who know a bucket load more about this gear than myself.

No compromise this time Matt.

Thanks. Im hoping it will come out ok in the long end.
Hoping to have the vast majority of the fabrication knocked over a few weeks before Christmas.
Then I can clean up underneath it , apply stone guard etc and start bolting stuff back under it and get the driveline in.
Would dearly love to just take the old girl for a strap around the block at the moment.
Doing the body work and paint will be ruled by how humid the summer turns out.

Lets take some slow steps forward and get pulled backwards at a rapid rate of knots.................
I decided that f**k it Ill put the blower on. It would be a pretty cost effective solution at this point in time.
Started to seriously research what I was up against for the emissions test so everything was in order.
That is where an issue of ugliness reared its head..................
The truck is currently engineered with an E series 5.0 which complies under ADR 37/00.
As everyone knows I am putting an AU motor and ECU in this time around for the better front dress and coilpacks. That's all easy.
The bit that isn't so easy is the AU falls under ADR 37/01 for the IM240 emissions test. This ADR is known to be very very hard to comply to without spending a lot of money.
Currently unsure as to which set of standards I will have to actually meet. Will it just be the ADR 36A that the Maverick had from factory. If so that's dead easy as there is basically no emissions gear and harder then a XC Falcon.
If its the ADR 37/00 that the Mav is engineered at currently , well that is no worse then I was originally thinking.
If its ADR 37/01 because of the AU motor , I don't know what will happen. Wonder if it would pass running on old potatoes instead of dinosaur juice?
I have shot off an email to the engineer so will just have to wait and see what he says.

Tuned on bundy it should pass with flying colours, Passing on old dinosaurs, slim chance if any. Good thing the emmissions test cannot specify what fuel you test and pass with.

It is the age of the engine. Should piss it in on alcohol with a stock cam and the blower bypass jammed open. Once you start messing about with lumpy cams then your emissions goes to s**t. Brett was lucky he had to follow ADR37/00. You and I on the other hand down't have it as easy.

Ever thought of fitting everything to the eb motor or if that engine is cactus get a dart block with the eb engine number stamped on then go for your life with the mods.

Yep the age of the motor is worked out off the engine number.
Fingers crossed it can be fudged.
While all the AU gear can be fitted to one of the earlier blocks easily both motors need rebuilding.
If I'm rebuilding a bottom end I'll do a 347 and be done with it.
I'll just wait till I hear back from the engineer.
If I do have to indeed test at 37/01 fingers crossed the stock motor on rum should piss it in.
This whole project will probably be a good learning curve for a lot of people.

Just make sure it won't hit boost during the emissions test. I'm only going E85 because I'm worried that the amount of blowby on a warn (but still running reasonably well) motor would cause me to fail, even if I make sure it won't make boost for the test.

Got an email back at 4.30 this morning!
ADR 37/00 is the magic set of numbers.
That's a relief.
