"pollenated" and "tree branch".... Is that what you crazy kids call it these days

All in all, it wasn't too bad a night. All I say is that I did not really trust my 'Soccer Mum' 4WD on that wet clay. The fact that it was still raining helped wash it all off (if only something would happen to get the mud off my carpet without me putting in any effort

The "soccer mum" 4x4 did bloody well mate. Yeah it was pretty slippery and you being on highway terrains would not of helped at all. But all in all you and the challenger did very well.
This doesnt mean I will stop calling you a poof , but I might stop calling your 4b the gay hairdressers mobile.........................

After doing some research it is a likely situation that the RPMII manifold is not going to fit. It appears that the heater core piping is going to get in the way.
Alas the solution is available from good old Summit.................
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BBK-5002/
Not a cheap solution by any means but very sexy. Oh well its only money and nothing but the best for the old nugget from here on in.
So I now have to organise a sale of the RPM II , throttle body and associated goodies and if and when that happens its time to go shopping!

It is somewhat sexy isnt it............................
It is something I really really want to do.
Fingers crossed the old top end sells ok to allow me to do it.
No great rush to get it done. I reckon when it goes down to have the engine number changed and the change of records with the gas system leaving the building it should at least look like a stock motor...............

Actually after looking again I actually dont know if I will be any better off with it.
It does come further back towards the firewall then the RPMII length wise and the mountng boss for the throttle body seems to stick a bit further out.
With the RPM II the boss for the throttle body is pretty much in line with the base of the manifold at the head mounting face.
Image

Where with the BBK manifold the mounting boss for the throttle body actually hangs out past the head mounting face..........
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BBK-5001/?rtype=7

The space for the throttle body can definately be played with but the length to the rear might be an issue.
Will have to take some measurements tomorrow...................

Probably a goo idea about the appearance of the engine change. Or would that really matter if your engineering papers state the 5.0 conversion anyway?

Got me stuffed how the picture of the boat motor ended up above..................f**k its getting late......
Well technically Ash the motor still has to meet emissions requirements for the change of records ever though its engineered.
Mine aint going to......LOL

Well the thing that no one thought would actually happen happened today.
The boat was put in the backyard and the rego cancelled.
Have started pulling the old girl down already.
So time to get it pulled down and sold off and then do some more work to the nugget. Next cab off the rank is the engine change. Then a few other ideas I want to play with...................

Actually made a start on things today!!!!!!
Well some good rear doors and front guards were gathered on the weekend so they will be there to do bodywork and still keep the old girl on the road.
I would be happy if I could find another bonnet for the right price but am not having a hell of a lot of luck.
The Fairlane was relivied of its motor today and it was put on the stand ready for work to commence. Didnt get a chance to get any pics as I was doing about 11 billionty things today to catch up on stuff!
Had a quick look and I think I will be able to make the Performer fit in. It will be a stuff around but I am now confident it is doable.
Also grabbed a KBS coating fuel tank sealing kit to derust and reseal the new fuel tank before I sling it in.
Pictures in the next couple of days. At least it has actually started but!

Got a bit more done this afternoon. Currently just doing fiddly stuff to make the manifold work in a reverse orientation and setting the throttle body up etc.
Motor on the stand as it come out of the lane and about to be stripped of all the excess gear.
Image

Found that the fuel regulator was going to hit the manifold and that the fuel rails could not be reversed so I ended up getting the original fuel rails and the 4" grinder and making some slight modifications...........LOL
Cut off the fuel regulator mount and return line and cleaned up the end of the fuel rail.
Am going to run an external regulator on it. The manifold will now clear everything reversed so when I get home tomorrow I am going to run down to motorsport connections and see what they can do about putting a speedflow barbed fitting in my return rail so that is sorted.
Also got a phenolic spacer this afternoon dropped off to me by a good mate which lifted the upper manifold up another 1/2". So besides helping with a bit more power it is even more clearnace for the return line. WIN WIN.
By the time we finished stuffing around with it all it was too dark to take any pics so will get some tomorrow if I have time. But I can now confidently say it is all going to fit under there.
Just need to fab up a throttle cable bracket and then I can change the cam etc and get the motor ready to sling into the Maverick.
Also a quick pic of the Fuel Tank sealing kit I am going to use on the new tank. Not a bad setup for $88!
