Well some good rear doors and front guards were gathered on the weekend so they will be there to do bodywork and still keep the old girl on the road.
I would be happy if I could find another bonnet for the right price but am not having a hell of a lot of luck!

I got a bonnet..........come and have a look and make me an offer i can refuse....lol

That means that you will need to park it at Maccas on the friday nights. It will blend in with all the imports that have black bonnets :P

Thanks mate.
Im thinking I might give the mount a crack myself. Im enjoying the challenges this time around.
At least then when I C**k it up you will be able to get a cracker of a laugh from my efforts! Plus you also have more then enough of your own stuff to get done!

Well really got stuff all done this weekend.
Got home early Saturday afternoon after helping with the motor install and started on the second stage of the fuel tank refurb.................and then it chose to piss down and it has been pouring here ever since.
So here is a couple of little piss ant updates.
Motor with manifold etc fitted correctly to fit in the truck.
Image
Got a nice piece of aluminium plate off SWC so can now make the throttle cable bracket.

Standard fuel rails modified to fit and work properly this time instead of a backyard hack job as is currently on it.
The front has had an Aeromotive and speed flow fitting put on it so the new flexible lines will fit up correctly. The schroder valve has also been removed and tapped out to 1/8 NPT to allow the pressure guage to screw straight in without an adaptor.

Image

At the rear the original fuel reg has been removed off the rail , original reg mount removed and pipe work once again tapped to 1/8 NPT and a speedflow fitting used. So now it is external reg time. I am thinking about a Sard unit.
Check how close it is to the manifold even with the phenolic spacer very generously supplied by Terrorist Ghia.
Image

On the exhaust front the twin system is never going to fit properly so the high flow cats will be going onto the XR8. I have organised a Magnaflow 3" High Flow cat and a 3" centre ina nd out Hooker Aerochamber muffler to run a good single 3" system. As soon as the bits arrive that will be the next thing to be done so it is ready for the motor change.

Cheers Paul. You are now my god!
Really appreciated. PM me the price when you get a sec. It will do so much better then the dodgy Monza one I was going to use temporarily. Will be able to do it once and do it properly!
Thanks again.

Still chugging away.
This arvo consisted of getting a new starter motor so I dont have to get any midgets to clutch start it in future as it was playing funny buggers when it was hot.
No point in stuffing around , just put a new one in and be done with it.
Fuel tank is now sealed so hopefully will get time to get a coat of paint on it and it bolted up during the week. Have to wait 4 days for the sealer to cure so that will be a job that can only be part finished.
The rest of the afternoon consisted of this bit of chopping and hacking.

Throttle cable bracket fits and full throttle is available when the cable is fully pulled so it lookes like a possible winner. Needs some filing etc to tidy it up and I just have to put a couple of little welds in to the original Ford retaining bracket where I cut it to suit. It will most likely be fine but do it once and do it properly from here on in.
Then I ripped out the under bonnet parts for the BBQ fuel.
This is the last time this will be seen in such a bad state. I cant believe I ever let it get to this.
Oh well no more now.

Looks much better already.
With the gas gear gone everything has just fallen into place and the location of the new airbox , snorkel and intake pipework just appeared out of nowhere like magic. Going to be fairly easy and will fit in with the future plans.
