Good work.

I'm interested in what needs to be done to the BBQ plate to make it fit the Explorer too.

I shall be able to fill you in tomorrow. It looks to be dead easy but.

Happy days here.
The 5 poster was picked up last night. Buyer was happy with the bar and absolutley wrapped when I gave him the stainless stone deflectors. I was happy he took them too. Saves me taking them to the tip!
The XR8 is all back together and so far touch wood all seems well. Gave it a new set of plugs and leads and an oil change while I was under it. Decided to leave the barbie plate off for a few day just so I can keep an eye on any leaks etc that may devellop.
Progress is always welcomed but!

Cheers Mick. I had an idea that all it needed was the section cut out to clear the front bolt.
I would need a EF EL one but to be able to refit the plastic extension on it. Bloody women!
I have a spare one here I am going to make fit and then paint up in the red again. Will be painting the new coolant tank cover at the same time.
XR is going well all in all. Am confident enough with the install that today was spent changing stuff around on the wagon and getting pictures of it and putting it up on ebay to hopefully find a new home.
The ute now has 17's on it.
Image

They are only a temp thing until the new tyres come in and then the AUII rims are going on to it. The idea is the have the ute and the XR8 pretty much a matching pair so I will have to do something about red strips etc.
Within the next week or so the 17" Speedy Longchamps and tyres in the pics will be going up for sale. PM me if anyone is interested.

No more wet f@rt , tractor exhaust on the ute!!!
After getting sick of hearing the neighbourhood dogs howl in pain whenever I started the ute up something had to be done. This afternoon a 2.5" cat back exhaust was fitted up to the ute so it is now nowhere near as obscene.
After checking prices there was a difference of $80 between me getting the gear and doing it myself or dropping it off and picking it up finished. f**k doing a DIY exhaust to save $80!

In other news the new EL front for the XR and the EF front for the ute get dropped off to be painted on Friday night. :D

Couple of little bits turned up today for the ute.
Looks much tidier now.

New tonneau cover and a set of smoked taillights.

All that is left for a while is a good clean and polish , change a couple of locks , fit the stereo and paint the window frames black. Also have to fit the XR front when its ready.
Has turned out a half reasonable ute now for not a lot of cash spent.

Actually managed to find an hour to spend on the Maverick this afternoon also!

Thanks Rossco. Its hard to believe what it was a couple of weeks ago to what it is now.
I have grown somewhat fond of the old nugget. Will be awesome once I get to fit the XR front and the HID's.
I just have to check my set of slotted rotors on it and sort a wheel alignment out before too long.
Now to get a bit of Mavericking happening.

You might need a bit of cut and polish to remove the rmw sticker remains on the rear bumper. Haha! But very nice none the less. She's looking very tidy.

Cheers! Yeah your right but the whole car needs a cut and polish not just the back. I dont think it had seen a sponge for 5 years before we got it!

Lookin' good Matt, those smoked tail lights sure do look good. Anything else planned for it? A coyote would look mighty fine in an XH!

Thanks Mason.Yeah it is starting to look pretty good.
Only things Im looking at is either a LSD or lokka for it and a good clean and tidy up.
Little bits and pieces as they come up and time and dollars permit. After all it is just the daily hack once the wagon leaves the building.
Yeah a Coyote would be sweet but it will never happen. Too much time and money to invest. Have to start thinking about buying some bricks before going down a conversion path again.
If it does get anything done as far as engine goes it will most likely just be a 5.0 Wheezer conversion. Straight bolt in , pretty cheap and no engineers certificate required.

Bars were dropped off tonight and HID's will be ordered next week so its getting closer!
