The only way the LPG would help with the engineering would be if it was on straight gas which wont happen. I wont have another gas only vehicle for taking bush. They are too much of a drama if you run out of fuel or what not.
Im hoping that fact that it is a commercial vehicle and is heaps cleaner emissions wise then it has to be already will help me with getting it passed. I will just have to chat to the guy and see where we stand.

There going to have to be small turbo's as you use your mav for offroad work and won't want turbo lag climbing steps or hills when you need throttle response..

Thats another thing too Phill.
Will be a lot of looking into.
Ill just concentrate on working on getting back on the road this time around and then move onto turbo goodness in a bit.

Have been having a look on eGay and I am findling lots of S13 and S14 T28's but not a lot of S15 ones.
What is the difference? Remember I am not right up on turbos.

S15's run Ball bearing turbo's, not bush bearing. S14/13 SR20 turbo's would be alright. They are originally on a 2L spinning to 8000rpm, so a 5L @5750 will be making some incredible low down torque, and a reasonable top end rush.

Not enough progress to take any pics at the moment.
Would of been real close to being finished on the weekend but I was called into work so the Mav had to wait. Started to get into it this afternoon and the heavens opened...............
The twin turbo manifolds arrived and I have had a look at them and have decided to not go down that route. The manifold and turbo will be way too tight to the steering shaft etc and I would of had to put the batteries in the tray which takes up valuable room for camping gear etc so thats not on.
Also I have found what I believe is a better option for the money to be spent.
I am currently exchanging emails with the guys from Fordstrokers.com about their DIY bottom ends.
This is the bad boy I am very very seriously looking at...........http://www.fordstrokers.com/diy-liberat ... locks.html

Basically they have a payment plan where you make a 50% downpayment and pay the rest off. Once paid for it is all machined up , packed and sent. The reason I am going to use the payment plan is that I am using the 408 as a crutch to quit smoking.
I smoke about $150 a week so if I have the new motor as my goal and am actually making progress payments every week from the money I am not smoking I am actually achieving something. I know if I just put the money inthe bank it wouldnt lock me into quitting as much as paying a bill each week.
So I will be waiting until the tax return is back and rego on the Mav paid and then they will be receiving my down payment and off we will go!

Cheers. I am definitely thinking of trying the champix. I am cutting back big time at the moment. When in training courses etc I am no longer getting up and going out for a dart. I'm not missing those ones so that's a start.

4" inlet and 4" outlet sucking through a 4" mandrel bent snorkel. Fingers crossed I dont suck in any low flying aircraft at WOT.
After a chat with sam12h last night at Liverpool I come home and spent a few more dollars. I shall post pics once it gets here but most of you have seen it all before anyway.

That airbox looks s**t hot Matt, better not run into any bird life while out cruising!

Good idea for the smokes too, atleast you will have an incentive to quit and put the money to good use. But if that fails, go to rollies, much better and cheaper. I am no where near as extreme in the smoking habit as you, probably only a 20 pack in 4 days, but going to rollies saved a lot of money but I found I smoked more of the damn things because they were smaller.
