Is the wiring for the clutch pedal cruise switch in the auto loom? I've got mine mounted but haven't even checked to see If I've plugged it in... :?

You are getting quite the collection of V8's/manual V8's

Ok I have actually got some s**t happening here for a change.
As a lot of people know the clutch in the XH cried enough and was basically undriveable.
Well I didnt really want to change the clutch seeing as though it will all be coming back out within a couple of month but a car sitting around like a garden gnome is useless and Troyman did me a very sweet deal on a clutch!
So this weekend the ute got a Exedy Sports Tuff AU clutch fitted to it and I have to say I am very happy with it so far. Its bites hard but is very soft to use and no where near as hard and notchy as the old factory one was.
Also I fitted the 3.45 LSD EF XR6 wagon diff I picked up a couple of weeks ago. While I was at it I changed the rear brakes away from the crappy EB style ones the XH had standard and fitted EF ones with the better handbrake etc. Stealing the calipers from the XR8 parts car , and throwing a new set of pads in with some brake line adjustment saw everything in and working well.
There is no real performance increase but at least they shouldnt bind on line the old EB ones were known for doing now.
A quick couple of laps in and a nice high rpm clutch dump with the resulting set of wiggling 11's  showed that the install of the clutch and diff was a raging success.

Also I picked something else up today.
I was having a look on fleabay during the week and saw a 5.0 advertised for $400 start bid or $500 buy it now. Claimed to have only 180000km on it.
Well I need another 5.0 like a hole in the head but I went for a drive 15 mins down the road and checked it out anyway as in the really dodgy picture on egay it looked as though it had an explorer manifold on it.
Well here are the pics of it I took once I picked it up.
Image

Yep explorer manifold and AU throttle body on it. Was also given the airbox top with the AU MAF.
So to get a 5.0 with reasonable kilometres on it with an explorer fitted for $500 would of been a good buy. Good thing I only paid $450 for it then.

Better thing was what I found having a look over it during the week while I was checking it out.
Image

So for $450 for a 5.0 with AU MAF , explorer and a set of GT40P's I am pretty chuffed!
It also come with power steer and aircon pumps so they should return a good dollar on ebay. I already have spares in the shed so better off moving them ones on.
I will be removing the top end of this motor and fitting it to the XR8 parts car motor once it is fitted to the ute. I know that motor is a good running motor so I will go with that one.
The motor I picked up today will have a HO top end dropped on with a set of E7's and sold off as a rebuilder for a few hundred bucks.
Put that on top of the diff and the 5.0 5 speed conversion I grabbed the other day I have been spending a bit of cash but having some good wins as of late! The fact I have had some wins means I decided to pass the good will on. The guy I bought the motor from had a couple of AC delco cats that he wanted $5 for because he just wanted to clean up. Being a good christian soul I happily gave him $10 and threw the cats into the trailer. It was beinga good christian that made me take them and help him out , the fact they are worth $45 each at the local scrap dude had nothing whatsoever to do with it I promise!

$20 to $30 for a normal cat but if you can get the AC Delco ones they have more of some precious metal so they are worth $45.
I have no idea what they have more of in them besides win for Matt but thats all I care about!
They have to have AC stamped in the case but.

Give me a price on the power steer pump, I wouldn't mind one on my parts shelf.

Looks like we both scored today. I picked up a 5 speed EF for $550, complete runner, will be getting stripped and made into a circuit car. Thanks for the tip off on the car too Matt

E series and AU pumps are totally different beasts Dave. Wont even coem close to fitting on yours.
Get a build thread going on this circuit car. Looking forward to it happening!
Did you get it to drive properly?

Bugger, for some reason, I thought it was an AU motor. just AU upper.

I did drive the EF, motor feels nice and fresh actually. gotta get you to weld up the firewall though. at least there is no sound deadening there to get in the way! First mod if complete too, Handbrakes has been removed thanks to a hire trailer. dragged the underside and pulled it. Makes alot of smoke from old tyres too. Just sorting out the finer details of a mini spool with Troyman..

Build thread will happen. How to strip out an EF and make it loud as hell.

I stuffed up on the cat convertor prices as well.
I went to the scrap dude this morning and AC cats are no longer worth $45 each.
They are now worth $50 each.
Got my ill gotten coin and went and spent it at Bunnings on s**t for my camp trailer.

Big changes have happened around these parts as of late.
Too tired at the moment to go to far into it so watch for the update tomorrow sometime!
