Get the dude to put a copy of the tune file on a USB stick or SD card, etc.
Your software is probably similar to ours in that IIRC you can pull the tune data off the ECU in a file. Be good to have a backup in case the ECU data goes corrupt.

Gene did the tune on his laptop as it was the one he was familiar with using and then once it was all done , plugged my laptop in and dumped the tune across to it. Well it was up early this morning to run down and see Gene of Gentek Solutions in the Gong. Dropped the car off and headed up to Maccas for breakfast and just walked up to the beach when I got the call to come and pick it up , it was all done and ready to go. Lobbed back up to the workshop and we went for a run in it. Gene was driving to show me what he had done to it when I informed him to stop playing with it and give it to the old girl. When it stepped out sideways in second gear under acceleration all he could do was laugh and say "This thing is just wrong" which proceeded in us heading back to the workshop and everyone in there having a look under the bonnet at what it actually was. To be honest I was pretty proud at that moment that my frontyard performance antics got what could be considered a pretty good wrap in my eyes. I then proceeded to head over to the goat rooters place to say G'Day and hopefully provide some motorvation to kick the Fordrunner in the pants. Took Nik out for a drive where there was total disregard for fuel economy and maximum regard for fun , dropped him off and headed home. Decided to fill it up and see what the fuel usage was like. Including stuffing around being tuned and then driven in a somewhat fun manner usage come in at 28L per 100km. Seeing as though it uses 25-27L of 98 for the same distance no matter how you drive it I call it a very big win. I reckon driving it like a normal person will see LPG usage around the 24-26L per 100 mark. Still heavy compared to a Falcon but at 56c a litre I am happy. Early calculations seem to be pointing that a tank of gas will be good for around 350 odd km. So now I have to say I can definately recommend the NGV injection kit on a V8. Yes I had some dramas setting it up because I hadnt done one before and there was a couple of errors made from both my end and Rainbow Energys end but now I know whats what and am happy to help anyone out who is interested in fitting one so they dont have the same dramas I had. Once again I cannot rate or thank enough Gene of Gentek Solutions. Nothing is too much drama for him , his price to tune it was more then fair and he is very happy to help out. All in all , a very happy camper here!

The new and improved injector location.
So now with only a handful of days left until Sydneys AFD the work continues. Yep Im finally getting around to lowering Donnas Ghia. Tickford camber kit has been ordered for the IRS. Hopefully it is there at 11.30am tomorrow as promised or else I will be having some major issues. Got an awesome deal on a set of KYB TE50 length shocks. How awesome? $330 total for both front and rear! Couldnt get the wallet out quick enough for that. Managed to assemble the front struts this arvo with some bits I had here and will make the front camber adjustment kit tomorrow morning. Then providing Ford gets it right I will be having a busy afternoon fitting the front up and making a start on the rear. Booked in for alignment at 3.00PM Wednesday. Might be a rush job Im thinking!

Cheers guys.
Yeah Paul I was pretty happy to have the rain this morning. Driving picton and Appin roads in the rain doesnt faze me at all. Doing it in the fog through there I really cant think of anything worse. Yep I was always impressed with the injected gas after having it in our old 4 runner but on the V8 its a whole different ball game. I think the time has long come that LPG is no longer classed as a s**t , a*** fuel for gays. The old mixer ring setups and duel fuel carby setups are definately s**t but the injected system is the s**t. Dave funnily enough having this up and sorted has actually killed my drive to get the rest of it done for the moment. I want to go out and get at least another camping weekend away in it before it comes off the road. Also I am actually looking forward to spending some time behind the mower , building a fence and fixing the driveway. Will also start my veggie garden. I want to step back from the projects and have a bit of a break for a bit. Put a couple of hours a week into them to keep things chugging along but thats it.

GLAD TO HEAR IT GOT HIM -MOTORVATED AND ALL SHOOK UP It took me 4 solid hours to unwind. Its the total package Matt. The stance The power plant The cocophany of noise The actual accelleration The "get the f**k out of my way before I crush your sports car like a coke can" attitude. If I can achieve just a fraction of that with mine then I will die a happy man. |

Todays job done and dusted.
The requirement was lowered but not dumped on its guts and being a C*** to drive. I think I got it right. Off for an alignment tomorrow and cleaned up on Saturday for AFD.

Matt, that look horn, I am sick of seeing a** dragging suspension mods. Just cause someone makes springs that will have your wheels tucked into your guards does not mean it looks good (in my eyes)
Well done, good to see the evolution continues.
