As a fellow Maverick owner......
Maybe time to lose the poxy bonnet scoop, or is it really necessary to let the hot air out?? Wheels look good on the new old girl........

Personal preference Daz.
To be 100% honest I have always thought the XB GT bonnet on yours looked like balls but never said it out of politeness and the fact that modifying vehicles is personal taste. It does make it run a lot cooler through especially when doing low range , low speed rock climbing work , something I am yet to see yours doing............... Yep I agree the wheels look grouse on the new colour!

Spent a few hours doing fiddly stuff today.
Cleaned up and removed the old s**t LPG wiring in the new body and went through the truck and tested all the electrics out. Very happy to see that they all worked so it is one less thing to have to sort out. Fitted the bird catcher up to the new one. Mask up the guard and using the original guard make up a template of sorts. Mark out the snorkel hole on the masking tape , tell yourself that a replacement guard is only a couple of hundreds bucks and eBay away , man up grab the grinder and air nibbler and chop the s**t out of that guard! Snorkel fitted. Have to go to Clark rubber or the likes and get some rubber beading to go around the edge of the hole to clean it right up. Once I have that I will be able to line to snorkel up where it works best and fir the rest of the retaining bolts. Got a bit of an issue with the build Im looking into. I have asked the question here post1374180.html#1374180 Whats the collective thoughts?

Nice job fitting it, but the snorkel now needs shiney black paint instead of flat.
New truck, slightly different look me thinks. Cheers BenJ

It will be pulled off and sandblasted when my new sandblaster gets here. It will be painted in an industrial polyurethane called LIC40 made by Valspar Paints. It will be in gloss black along with the rear bar , winch bar , chassis and rock sliders. LIC40 is self levelling , doesnt need primer (its actualy works best on a freshly sandblasted surface) is cheap and is strong enough to be hit with a sledge hammer and not chip. Works for me!

Obviously, poxy was a poor choice of words. It would look nicer if it was fibreglassed in properly.

Working on the basis that I will be doing a little bit to it each day and eventually it will be finished.
Today was only a little bit unfortunately. Stripped the back of the black one out and got it ready for some pain in the next few days. I need to get a few critical measurements off the white truck and get some stuff fitted up before I can actually start chopping the white one up.

Ive actually put in an emergency call to Tony Martin to get my hands on some sufficient screws to do the job. He might also be supplying me with Matt black pressure packs to finsih it all off.
Nah in all seriousness it will be getting done properly this time. It wont be getting fibreglassed on as it will just crack but I do have some tidy ideas for it. I know myself the old Mav was as rough as guts. But it was always the vehicle that I was using to see what I could make work and get fully engineered. It was always intended when I started the project all those years ago that once I was happy with where this were to build a new one using what I had learnt. Now that time has come. Yep the old girl was most certainly never a show pony (as people use to regulary tell me. I mean really no s**t) but all in all for what she had gone through it wasnt too bad. She was destined for the scrap yard when I got her due to rust holes in the roof , has done 5400000kms , been written off twice in accidents I wasnt at fault in , hit by 4 hail storms , chopped , hacked and washed with 600 grit sandpaper , then dumped in mud and run into trees. Version 1 is a good old ugly nugget and will always have a fond place in my heart.

No progress as such vehicle wise this afternoon as I was assembling and setting up my new toy.
10 gallon sandblasting unit. Am using garnet in it and with the little piece I did today testing and setting it up I have to say Im very impressed. Absolutley tore through the paint and garbage. I can see this tool getting a good work out.

Where did you buy it and how much
I have one of those gravity SCA sand blasting guns and it sucks a***, it is not a CFM problem, I am going to turn it into a BB gun and give the Indian Mynas a full auto blast (Can you still buy BB's in milk like cartons?)

Come up with a new innovation here at Werro Motorsport!
We have designed and develloped many many things here over time , but this new innovation takes the cake for function , form and Jewness. Ladies and Germs I am proud to introduce to you the Werro bodylift kit! Height difference with this awesome piece of kit fitted. Pretty f**k awesome hey!!!!!! In all seriousness I need to check some clearances with a couple of mods I have to do before taking the body off the chassis and to do so I needed the body lift in. Wasnt about to spend $250 on another kit for a matter of weeks until it wasnt required because I already have the original one in the white truck Ill be using. So I Jewed up and spent $6.00 on a length of 70mmx40mm structural pine and as you can see made up some spacers. Fitted in very well and does what is needed. This is a 40mm lift and I actually have a 50mm lift for it as the full time measure so if everything clears with the 40mm lift , I am well and truely sweet with the proper lift. Should be doing some welding over the weekend.
