the engine started at 7.45 pm today ,no problems so far .filled the gearbox (btr)with oil but still will need about 3-4 litres more (so far only got 7.5 litres in it .we just used a funnel and a clear hose about 15-20 mm diameter and ran it under the car while the other person filled the funnel with oil . it was that easy to use .way easier than those pump packs . 4 litres in about two minutes and gravity does the rest .just a little problem i have two codes come up u1900 and p0500 vechicle speed a (vss) what do they mean ?

just found out that the abs module will need replacing with the turbo one due to it has traction control and thats why the ute is in limp mode .apparently the computer can not read the v8 abs module . so i will also have to add a extra brake line . how hard will this be to do ,i do not know .i have next week off work so i will have to get stuck into it .so far this engine transplant has cost me about $8000 ,still need a new tailshaft (custom made to suit $1500 -$2000 ) still need a tune $1100 and getting it towed there $250 .so it will most likely be more like $11000 in total .it just adds up and up .just worked it out yesterday what i spend on it and got a shock when i added it up (had to do it twice just could not believe it ) the bank account is empty ,had to borrow some money to keep going with it .thanks mum .i am 44 years old and still have to ask for pocket money .would never have gotten the money if i said it was for the ute ,lol .thanks to my girlfriend for understanding that the lounge room is for car parts only .have the aluminium tray parts there now instead of the bonnet and guards etc . still have to assemble it before i can fit it to the ute (still waiting on some that they had to do again )

for 11k you should have been able to drive in drive out with new recoed and worked 8 :)

even a low km 2nd hand you should have been able to find!

still as i said credit for doing the job yourself! that you should be proud of!
i know a fair few ppl who would not have done it!

yes i know ,but i do what i want to do not what everyone els does .thats why i am different .have always been stubborn in that way .the v8 felt to heavy in this ute ,it just did not feel like it should be there .i am so glad i went this way and build a real ute that has actually got balls ,to go the extra mileage and eat v8 for breakfast and spit them out at lunchtime .i love modern technology ,thats why i did not want another v8 again .the sound i will miss ,but the turbo sounds way better when the engine is at 6000 rpm lol. and then my standard con rods pokes a hole into the side of the block and i will have to do it all over again .should have build a v8 that is boring to drive ,yes i should have i am getting old .just like the v8 engines
