Yeah mate, mine's a fairmont. Has the electronic fuel and boot.
Mine's not worth showing off either, but it would be fun to cruise with hundreds of cars in a massive convoy lol. I'm 17, btw.

So the smartlock module I had was apparently faulty, Muzza fixed me up big time. I went down there today to see how the car was going, no results yet.... I did find out though that the mechanic took my injectors off my car and put them on his brothers to see how they would flow. He told me they were crap and would load up on my car. They are the AU XR6 injectors for the AU engine on a log manifold.
Is this a bad combination? Also, should I be mad that he took them off my car and whacked them on his brothers to do a test himself to see if it would benefit his brothers car? Since they are my parts and all.... Hopefully I get my car back soon... I miss driving it

I'll know though because he said that I should change them once the car's running and I get it back. I'll change them and if they aren't the XR6 one's, I'll be p****d. Seems like that to me, too. Just wondering what would have been the case if the injectors went well with the EL? Would they have swapped injectors and not told me? Hmmmm....

dont change them..
if anything just get them reco'd.. they will be fine on the log manifold.. it sounds suss that he put them in his brothers car to test them??? if they were stuffed he would have found out when the car was up and running.. i think he really wanted to know if they made any difference in his brothers car thats all.. |

Nah man, they don't need to be reco'd they are in pretty good nick . I know that's exactly why he wanted to test them, he wasn't testing if they worked, he was testing how his brothers car went with them, that's why I am pretty p****d. They're my property and I didn't give permission for them to be removed and put on any other car. TBH, I don't care as long as I get them back. He said that his brothers EL ran rough with them and I should piss them off for the stock ones once the car is running. Pretty sure he is probably just telling me that and hoping I'll swap for his brothers stock injectors. What sort of differences (negative or otherwise) would these injectors have on an AU XR6 engine with a dizzy, log manifold and untuned EB ECU?

the main difference thats noticable imo is throttle responce..
and while they are slightly higher flow.. as long as your 02 sensor is ok, the ecu will adjust to suit.. i bet the mechanic didnt reset the ecu before he put them in his brothers car..lol thats why it probably ran rough?? it probably wasnt driven enough for the ecu to adjust. Yeah, I thought that would be the case. The EL probably didn't have them in long enough to adjust. Do you have a log or BBM on your VCT, man?

So I got a quote of around $1033 to get the car running, but the wiring not cleaned up. Apparently without the wiring cleaned up it's not road worthy. He wants over $1500 to clean everything up nicely....
If he can't find the problems with the fuel pump and the ignition, he's just going to direct wire everything so it's less time and cheaper. I really don't know where this is going.... Out of my depth at this stage and it sucks wondering whether or not it's going to end in a way in which I'll be able to get the damn thing on the road.

So the fella down at the shop reckons the wiring is a mess and is a fire hazard. IDK if this is right or not.
He's doing a real nice thing for me though, he's going to let me help him so I can learn more and cut the price down a bit. Hopefully it means I can have my car back soon. I really need it done!

So what did you do to the wiring loom?
Did you just put the log manifold on the AU motor or. . . ?
