It's completely EB wiring, we ripped the wiring out of the red parts car and put it into the EA. So EB body loom and engine loom, EB ECU.
Has the log manifold and dizzy on the AU engine. For some reason the fuel pump isn't getting power and the ignition isn't working.

i'm sitting here typing with one hand, so excuse the poor grammar....
on saturday i lost it and ended up hitting a concrete floor with my fist.... i snapped 2 metacarpal bones in half and pushed my knuckles back about 3 cm. i had to ahve surgery to reconstruct my hand yesterday. they put a titanium plate on the 4th bone and a wire down the 5th which is removed soon. no driving for 6 weeks.... got out today and went to mechanics.... the falcon starts.... needs manifod bolts, idles lumpy as. needs cluster, center bottom part of dash, head unit, center console, back seat, lpg, etc installed n wiring cleaned up. needs boot n fuel flap buttons hooked up, rear lights grafted onto eb loom and lots of other stuff... Already owe a grand, dnt know how much further i can go with it coz money constraints. guh.....

Funny that those concrete floors are pretty hard, should have gone for the wall approach and hoped you miss the beams.
Sounds like you did a good job of your hand. At least the car is making some sort of progress, but its costing you.

So the car's running. The bills around $950 at the moment.
It needs: Thermo fans Crank case ventilation Wiring ziptied out of the way Cluster and dash put back together and a few other things then it should be ready for a rwc, considering it was road worthy before we undertook this project. Can anyone tell me how the hell to get the lower part of the dash in? The part that is above the center console, where the head unit goes in? Ohh I forgot, the boot lid needs to be swapped with the eb one for the RWC coz it has the reverse lights. Its easier to swap the boot lid than graft the ea lights onto it. Will change back once everything is done, though.

It's 2 or 3 screws and just pushes in. I think you site the bottom in first then click the top in. Take the coin(ash) tray out see if that makes a difference. check no wiring behind it is stopping the coin tray part going most the way back.

I'm talking about the part that holds the head unit itself. There's no wiring back there so I'll have to have another look when I get the car back. Cheers mate.

So I have had some cool news. It won't be overnight but it won't be ages away, either. My best mate is buying a tidy VL 5 speed. The box needs a rebuild, or a new box. I told him tonight that T5's are universal and that if he bought a new box he should buy a falcon kit and give me the bellhousing, ECU, pedal box etc.
He said he'd buy a falcon one and give me the parts plus his old T5 and I can get it reco'd! Pretty stoked! I'll be giving him something for it, can't just take it. But I'm pretty stoked!

Should have realized the VL's had the RB 30 behind them. Stupid, stupid, stupid....

Soo the car is FINALLY done... There's a little fuse problem with the thermo fans (one 30 amp fuse blows when it tries to run both fans) so I asked to put in another relay and another fuse. It should be ready to go tomorrow.
Getting it back from the RACQ is going to be $1762.10 including 6months CTP and RWC. Took it for a test run through the "course" where they test cars for roadie's, sooo bumpy and harsh ripping on the handbrake to see if it works whilst moving, doing a burnout etc. Kinda fun but felt like I was hitting the whoops on a motocross track. I wasn't driving, the racq guy was. There was this HORRIBLE noise coming from the back. When we got back to the workshop and he was checking the thermo fans, I pulled the back seat down and saw that the drivers side shock mount had been partially disassembled, the middle bolt had been removed along with the washer, the rubber had been taken out and put inside the dust cap, then the dustcap had been thrown under the seat and the nut and washer put back on. When I pointed this out one of the fella's was laughing from across the workshop, same guy who messed with the injectors. IDK if it was him but w/e... No damage was done. Can't wait to get my car back. Once I do I'll have extra pics. It will be sooo good to be able to go for a cruise and finally start doing more to it (exhaust and stuff).

So, $1762.10 later, I have my car back.
Disappointed with a few things... The thermo fans aren't COMPLETELY wired up. It kept blowing 20 and 30A fuses so I said why not add another relay and put a fuse on each fan.. The mechanic was like "Oh yeah, that can be done, but you'll have to put a fuse holder and a fuse in it because I don't have anymore" He's an RACQ business and he doesn't have a fuse and a fuse holder? Guh.... The transmission was EMPTY and I got charged $45 for fluid. Took it back and one of the guys that is half in charge but not completely was like "I thought you woulda taken it upon yourself to buy a bottle of trans fluid instead of b**ch" and I was like FFS I already paid for it on the bill. He reluctantly filled it up and did the song and dance and gave me the rest of the oil.... The accelerator cable is hard as f**k anyone know how to fix this? The serpentine belt SQUEALS SO DAMN LOUD!!!! I have put soap on it and it fixed it for a while but it's back to normal. Is the fact that it stops squealing for a while after I put soap on it indicative that it's the belt and not the P/S pump or any pulley? I have done quite a bit of work today, hid tons of wiring and put the interior back together. Starting to look like a car. I must say even with the stock EB exhaust, it sounds SO MUCH beefier than the 3.9L. Anyone in QLD want to sell a used 2.5 catback zorst?
