ok guys car is off the road for a birthday so i thought its about time i really sit down and think what do i want out of this car do i want a cruiser that turns heads or do i wanna lose my lisence again by building a motor that has 700 gigawatts of POWER..
i think ill keep my license thanks,
so after long discussion with my mechanic it has been decided a transplant is in order V8 baby..
so atm im looking at a conversion for the el just to keep me sane with wiring.
the engine wont get huge amounts of work
i mainly just want it lumpy and loud

hi guys not much has been happening with the car ,
the rear seats are being built atm and thats about it.
previosly in this thread i had been asking about the ticking of the motor everyone sugested that it is the chain.. well i found that 2 of the lifters had collapsed, so i repplaced them and 5 mins later the ticking was back,
for the last 5 months its just been an anoyying tick and ive never been able to take it past 4k rpm due to the sound of airhacksaws going down the car, but all of a sudden the dreadful noise started making it way down the rev range to the point that i was shifting into 5th gear @ 60 klm..

So last night i decided it was time to have another look at the lifters, out they came all 12 where collapsed i found this extremly weird, another look at the motor showed all 12 valve stem seals where crushed *WTF*, at this time my mate was helping me to find the problem as he was looking around i noticed he had his hand resting on the valve assemble , but some how the spring was being compressed by his weight(yes thats right *insert fustration here*) ok so i thought the springs where heavy duty nope in fact they are the standard out spring and have had the inner spring removed..

so where does this leave me .
1. the cam is f**k from all the chattering
2. the rocker assembly is cracked
3. the roller's have massive pepering through them aswell as huge chuncks been taken out from the chattering
4. 8 valves are bent
5. need new springs
6. need a new head or find someone to fix the valve seating and guide channels

needless to say im f**k p****d off at the stupidity of some people not using there brains this is a major mechanical component in a motor and can not be breezed by.

well more updates and pics tonight as i will be pulling the head out and inspecting the piston heads
just to add all chambers except for 5th is full of oil

Hi to all just like to introduce myself and help clarify this situation, i have been assisting kent in finding this inherent problem.
I'm posting this up to protect the rest of you from what i call
*No skill Wannabee Mechanic's that have no idea of what their doing*
I believe i can stand by my qualifications of 17 years of level 1 motorsport, qualified trade teacher, diploma in advanced automotive technology and 1 of only 7 people in Australia who has a degree in motorsport engineering.

Well..
I have not seen in all my years, a worse case of poor workmanship from somebody who obviously does not have the skill set or the basic knowledge of an apprentice in his first week, how could you possible pass yourself off and con people into believing that you have an idea at all, some of the fundamental mistakes of attempting to fit a modified cam then not having any knowledge of the effects this has;
1. Mis-calculation of lobe heights
2. Not knowing how to calculate spring bind (this resulted in removing the second spring *Yeah that'll fix it YOU IDIOT*
3. buying a rollmaster timing set and not knowing how to set it up
4. removing or forgetting to install upper spring seat spacers (this results in losing tension and causing valve bounce **IDIOT**)
5. instead of allowing for the lobe differences, and the use of remaking shims to get back the correct height, you used little bits of cut up aluminum cans placed under the stacks instead of proper shims which can be brought for 10c from any parts supplier TIGHT a** IDIOT HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD LAST BEFORE IT COLLAPSED

Let this be a warning to all to take it to somebody that know exactly what there doing before you fork out your hard earned

Adrian,
i can only assume you wouldn't be that stupid and leave critical components off the motor and unchecked
but if im wrong and i hope i am you need to remove every mod you have ever done to your force 6 and any other car you have modified for the fact of safety and not knowing if the car will suddenly stop

but from the comment of "lol" i can only assume to that you knew of your bad/poor job and you have used this forum and club to palm off your mistakes to other people, unfortunately its the people like you that turns forums and clubs just like this one into unhappy atmosphere (including your constant and unnecessary insults towards club members) and i hope others see you for what you are before they get ripped off

So what I'm gathering is that you are accusing me of:

1. Lying to you about everything I did to that engine
2. Intentionally did all the work incorrectly
3. Any mod I have done to or assisted in on anyones car should be taken off because its f**k

If this accusation is true, please let me know... You seem to be fairly certain in your first 2 posts, but a bit softer in this last post.

Otherwise check everything again, and you'll find it was done by the book, exactly as every other cam install has been done on this site.

And if you'd like, I can provide a a step by step list of work that was performed when that cam was put in.

Oh, ninja edit while I replying.. Nice.

I said a lol because I know if your usual path of exaggeration and shooting off before realising you may be wrong.

You also forget, I had no intention of selling that car. You begged me to sell it to you. So nice of you to think I would specially go out of the way to f**k it for sale when I had intended to keep it for a longer term.

Ahhhh, another ninja edit again...

Do your best to make me look bad, I don't mind, nor do I care. :D

I'm sure I did the right thing as best as possible, so my conscience is clear.
