i can get my windows tinted for $200 down here.but sometimes cheapest isnt always best, i have seen some pretty shonky tint jobs, all done by cheap places

I paid $275 for Solartint Penrith to tint my windows, I had to return the car 3 times for it to be redone. First time it had HEAPS of dirt trapped behind the tint, second time they had put a HUGE scratch across the back window ( was told it happen while screening off?) and the third time they had left heaps of air bubbles on the tint. My wife had done the driving down due to me working business hours and they abused her for my complaints ( and she is under 5 foot and weighs 50kg, was 4 months pregnant and had 2 kids with her each time). 12 months later and its starting to bubble already and I cant be bothered going through all the s**t again and we never got compensated.
Moral of the story is: Well known named places and dearer prices are not always better. Darkside tinting in Hazo ( small home run firm) was going to do it cheaper and I found out later do a s**t hot job, pity I decided to go for a well known name over the local bloke.

That's the thing I like about the smaller businesses. The don't get as many cars through, so they have more time to get the job done properly. And because of that, you're more likely to come back and do business with them again.

Spot of bad luck. The guys I booked with to tune, the guy that does the tuning went to America yesterday for a week and a half, and won't be back until next Friday. They'd confused the dates on their end, thinking he was going next week. No problem really, gives me a chance to save a few extra pennies. Also didn't think of it until Josh told me, but also gives me a look at the times it runs with and without tune.

Yesterday I had the high flow cat put in. Yes the check engine light popped up due to no 2nd O2 sensor, but that's fine.

With the DSC on and launching at 2500rpm I had a fair bit of wheel spin. The GTECH read 0-100 6.29s / 400m 14.49 @ 99mph (can't remember if it shows 60ft times on it, I'll have to go check).
The GTECH was fairly accurate at the drags last time, with times only being 0.05 to 0.1 off. So a mid 14 untuned right now isn't too bad at all. Hopefully drop 2 tenths at the track with the extra traction.

Solid effort considering you've had the car for a few months, and it's unopened.
Can't wait till you get cam/head work and diff... Will be a fair monster by then.

That's a little while away lol will try and hunt the lsd and gears during the year, maybe do a backyard job install over a weekend :) would save $1500 in labour then lol

I'll probably get the cams with my tax return, and just hold onto them until close to the end of the year when the lsd is in. might even have to get turbo injectors for the cams, and possibly look at a higher stall converter (probably 3000-3500rpm).

I wonder what the rpm limit is on the tailshaft? Wouldn't mind having a few extra revs in 1-2 gears.

Haha You'll have the line converters long before I need the injectors :P

Checked the 60ft time, and it was 2.68 due to the amount of wheel spin it had at launch. Just to compare, the 15.041 had a 60ft of 2.4
Getting traction will help bring the times down, so shall see what happens next Saturday night :)

Just spent an hour and a bit scrubbing the inside of the BA MK2 rims with a wire brush. Now to sand back the front and inside, putty fill gutter rash and then sand it smooth again. Prime the f**k and get it ready for paint tomorrow :) Going to be a fun couple of days. Only doing 2 rims for the time being, and once these 2 are finished I'll swap the front ones out and do them. Will leave the 16" rims on the rear ready for Saturday, no point putting the 17's back on before then.

Small update. 2 rims are painted, just waiting on the 2nd one to dry and harden properly before I give it a decent rub with a cloth to shine it up. Can still see some gutter rash, but it's better than what it was before.

Overall, can't wait to do the other 2 tomorrow. Will have to scrub them this afternoon to get them ready though, which I am not looking forward too lol

That's how they look at the moment. The centre caps didn't come up too well, will worry about that later though (I don't think I let the primer dry enough). Not sure if I want to clear coat or not though... If I do, I will be doing it Friday morning, so it gives it all day to dry and be ready for Saturday :)

Now to start scrubbing the other 2 :(

Other 2 rims are now prepped ready for primer coats, really can't be f*cked doing it tonight though, would rather just sleep lol but best to get it done now, and then I can get paint first thing in the morning and finish up by lunch :)

All done and on the car! I think I'll hold out on clear coating for now, I'm over spray painting. Fingers are killing me, likewise with my back.

It wasn't the best of jobs, but you'd have to get right in close and look at it during the day to notice the spots that didn't get paint very well.

All it needs now is some height fixing, it's way too high... lol

Just lower the rear a tad I know its yours but I like the height in the front.

Rear definitely needs to come down.

Did you do the prepping for the rims i.e. sanding, then cleaning, then primer then top coat and was it without a clear coat?

I know how long painting s**t takes well done.
