Yep the tyres are recommend to be run at 42 psi but if I give it to much sometimes I can lose traction up to 3 times leaving a set of lights as in go let off try go agdin start spinning again let off try again the. Usually grips but if run under 40psi they look like they are flat

I ran mine @ 48 psi when I did the 14.235, but the burnouts I do has left the tyres pretty much f**k.

After my PB run I just started bagging up off the line. And yes, I did have traction issues on the 14.235, but after the initial launch it gripped and went like a cat on fire.

I reckon with a good set of 245's under her and a gearbox service I'll get down to a 14 flat.

TRY THIS, it seems a bit odd that your ZF6 is running considerably slower than a 5sp. Your car should be running consistent 14.8 / 14.9 stock on 98 (that's with full tank of fuel and spare, as per ford specs).

Really? Well on 95 I just put on my wall with all the extra weight I still managed to pull a slightly better time I honestly think my exhaust is restricting the car it seems to want to jump off the line but won't keep pulling once started on my private stretch I can hit 200 in 4th at 4500rpm and won't go any faster we can't work out tho me and Mitch can pull the same speed to 200 but his still pulls better times logic at its best

Different gearing, weight etc.

All stock na cars are limited to 200 these days.

Next time you go to the track, get a set of 16's with heaps of tread. Put air pressures where ever you want really. If you got no traction issues, up the air pressure to assist in rolling resistance.
If you start getting heaps of wheel spin, drop to 28-30psi. But when you stall up, hard on the brake and 100% throttle. Open it up, and she'll launch hard. I only shaved 0.04 off my 60 foot time, but dropped 2/10ths of a second just by launching right. Keep in mind the dual 2.5" does lose a little bit of torque, but bigger gains in top end (once tuned it will have a crap load more torque obviously).

If you don't pull 14.9 or faster at the track with that setup, something must be up with the car..

That's what I'm starting to think but yet my mates purple fg is slower then mine I always jumped him off the line and stayed up front so I never really figured mine was slow :/

Bit odd hey. Just saying cause mate has 5sp XT just like mine (no tow pack though) and he ran 14.9 stock with just second hand growler @ 26c. So figured, yours SHOULD run at least that quick if not quicker seeing as it's a ZF.

I may be getting my intake and throttle body ported soon when i can afford it. Got a spare manifold sitting in a box from when i was going to put on the BA. Saves having the car off the road for too long lol just need to source a 2nd hand head and get them both done at same time.

When do you go to change gear? I have found the ZF 6 to be a bit 'wheezy' above 5300rpm (struggles a tad bit in first and second). Could be the ratios for 1st and 2nd being crazy short for the ZF.

1st is terrible good for launching but no gains then second I get to 112-115 then 3rd pulls decent and 4th I haven't has a proper chance to explore but I've found the shift point in all gears except 1st is 6200 to get 1st right I have to do it at like 5500
