given me some really good ideas for my AUII XR8, haveing a full black interior is getting old so i think i may change it up a bit and go for some chercole on the bottom half of the interior and the cluster frameing...

got to say again the best looking EF mont iv seen... makes me miss my EL...

Brilliant interior mate,
all you need are come cappa seats and you'll be laughin'.
Looks really tidy mate,
lovin' it.

If I wasn't such a huge fan of woodgrain, Id vinyl mine up too,
but Im a sucker for imitation wood, :P

The carbon fibre wrap looks unreal mate, you must be stoked with that. Turned out brilliant. Good to hear you could stick the spears on with tape too, I was thinking you would just have to pump s**t loads of silicon goo in lol.

I got my 5.0 today too mate. Sold the NL on Sunday, picked up an Aug 97 EL Ghia 5.0 yesterday. Navy Blue, Cappa interior and sunroof. Also has the FTRs and sports suspension factory. I now feel your pain with keeping the Cappa clean, I spent half the day cleaning years of neglect out of the trim. Nowhere near done either! Do you have any spare Cappa interior bits?

How about some LTD seats for yours? Thats what I want for mine...

Cheers bud!

Cappa leather seats would probably look awesome in the interior right now, problem is I want seats (up front at least) that really hold you in place. If a set of cappa leather seats come up for a decent price I may just pounce on them though :P

Cheers mate!! Yep, pretty wrapped with the carbon fibre trims, they look a lot better than I first thought they would. Just have to track down a cheap shifter surround and wrap that to match.

Nice replacement on the NL, EL Ghia's are pure sex with a few mods, especially a 5.0! Any pic's? :P

Cappa definitely is a royal prick to keep clean. I haven't got any spare cappa bits at the moment, sorry man. I'm currently trying to track down some spare bits too, but cappa interior is pretty rare to come across at the Pick a Part yards over here :o

LTD seats are awesome aye! The guy I bought all my LTD woodgrain off had a full set of LTD leather seats, but they were in fairly worn condition. Would probably cost a mint to get them re-covered though.

What cappa bits are u after nathan? I still have a full cappa trim set in my ef fairmont wreck & a spare set of door trims. lf it's easy to grab i'll see if i can organise someone 2 pull the bits off. I won't be back in NZ for another 6 months or so.

There you go, grab the seats!

Bottlejack I'd love the console insert. The bit that the shifter surround clips in to. Also the cappa leather handbrake handle if good. Perhaps if Nathan grabs some stuff I can get that stuff. I'd pay post obviously. Worth a try...

Nathan I'll get pics when I can. I've been diamantling the interior and cleaning. The outside is awesome but the interior is filthy...

It's all just fairmont stuff no Ghia items and no leather seats. There are some weird plastic woodgrain trims for the door trims but they just stick on top of the plain cappa fairmont spears and from memory one is missing.

Hey Arron, main thing I was chasing is some cappa leather door trims. Right now mine have that std Fairmont fabric 'base'. Was wanting to change over to the leather type trims so I no longer have the ugly looking fabric.

Other pieces I was after are some cappa mirror sails (those little triangle covers that sit above the door trim behind the wing mirror) but they aren't that important, just wanted another pair to experiment with tweeter positioning. Was also looking high and low for a cappa rear vent surround piece, but managed to find my old one last night under a whole pile of other parts sitting in the shed

I've just been playing with the premo audio in the EL and I reckon theres a lot of bass response to be gained from deadening the shelf. I know you have tried a couple of types, whats an effective cheaper one? Maybe some of the Jaycar stuff?

I'll get some pics for you after a detail.

I only have one set of Ghia door trims and they are fitted to my V8 Fairmont. All the others I have are cloth trimmed. The Ghia door trims aren't leather either they are just vinyl so you could just have a crack at re-trimming the ones you have.

I think I have a set of the little triangles covers too; not sure what condition they would be in though.

I'd still recommend the Dynamat Xtreme over the Jaycar stuff

Over here the prices difference between Jaycar deadening sheets compared to a similar size/amount of Dynamat Xtreme is pretty minimal and I find the Dynamat just works better. I've tried cheaper no-name alternatives and they just don't seem to deaden vibrations as good as DMX does.

No worries Arron. Ah so they are vinyl, good to know, thanks for the heads up . I might have a go at re-doing mine if I can find a matching colour then. Don't worry about the triangle sail trims for now mate, they aren't a biggie at the moment. Whenever you're back in NZ, give me a shout and I'll see if you've got any parts I might need.

Very sexual looking sub's 8-). Will be cool to see how they compare to the current sub's. Not sure when I'll put them in as I'm kinda considering building another box, this time a dual chamber ported box (1.25 - 1.5cuft per sub) and aim for something more "SQL-ish"
