That looks brilliant. Needs tyre shine though. :P

Cheers buddy! Yeah definitely needs tyre shine at the very least. Probably should have scrubbed them down first, but I'll do that before all the wheels go on.

Will be getting my tints hopefully sometime in April (before the 29th when AFD is on) just have to book it in and let them do the job. Should tie in nicely with the wheels and give the Fairmont the dark look I want 8-)

Looks s**t hot mate! Goes well with the colour of the car. I've always loved black wheels too.

Cheers mate! Black wheels FTW . I think it goes well with the colour also, would look pretty horn at night time when heritage green appears almost black

Can't wait to get the rest of the wheels finished off. Just have to save up for some good tyres for the front. Was looking at Neuton NT5000's as their reviews seem awesome for a cheap tyre, but there's also some decent 2nd hand tyres around, so not too sure which way to go.

While I was at Firestone, my mate there had his VR Clubsport (I think) up on the hoist, which had some old Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001's (now super-ceded by RE002's) on it. Love the look of those tyres, so if I have enough dosh, I may splash out for the new RE002's.

Wheels are finally finished now

Ended up getting some 2nd hand Bridgestone Potenza RE711's for the front, still have heaps of tread and the tread pattern is just sexy.

Managed to get the wheels finished yesterday/this morning and dropped them off a few hours ago to have the tyres fitted. Just got to give them a quick waxing before they go on :)

Sits pretty damn low up front, scrubs on something on full lock, assuming it's just the plastic guard lining as it clears the guards no worries, but I'll look into it.

Noticed a massive improvement in handling and just the overall feel of the car. The ride is a fair bit more firmer (feels a hell of a lot more firmer when driving on rough roads lol), and sits nicely on the road. Steering response has improved dramatically thanks to the hard as Bridgestone rubber on the front. The rear shocks definitely need to be revalved a little softer though, it's quite harsh now that there is less sidewall, especially for backseat passengers.

I have a bit more ground clearance now, can manage to get over the speedbump outside my house without scraping with passengers, whereas with the 16's, it would scrape the centre muffler with only me in the car.

I also can see the slotted rotors better now, looks quite cool haha.

Thanks bro!

Up front are just Pedder's 'low' springs. I have Koni struts though with an adjustable spring seat set on the 2nd lowest setting so that's why it's a little lower than usual.

Haha, if anything, the rear will be going lower to match :P

Seriously though, it is a little too low up front to be practical, but I've made do with it for a while now so I'm used to it. I have considered raising the front though; from day 1, the old man told me to raise it straight away once the Koni's went in.

If I do end up raising the front, it would be to leave the spring seat setting on the struts where they are and change to a std height King/Dobi spring, would probably bring it back up to around normal superlow height - by the looks of it at the moment, it seems around ultralow height up front.

The height in the front looks pretty sexy though I reckon, I wish I could bring the back down level without running into issues, but I've got a bit of vibration due to pinion angle already, so any lower would worsen that and probably see the tailshaft smashing the tunnel.

Looks real sinister now man! tough as!
Don't know why, but for some reason it looks a bit plain on the side view now, well to me it does. But it still looks good with that height though.
I'm guessing you'll be lowering the rear when you get an LSD, am I right?...

Supposedly, however I think only EL diffs got the extra upper arm mounting holes IIRC?

Thanks mate! That's the look I was going for, only really need tints to finish off the look now. Plain and simple is what I'm all about haha, so this is the way it'll stay.

Not 100% sure if I'll lower the rear, if I do it won't be by much, I still carry passengers a fair bit so don't want that becoming more of an issue than it already is . If I find a complete LSD to put in I'll most likely get my Bilstein shocks revalved with slightly softer rates for street use, and change to some progressive style springs, possibly something a little lower (~15mm) than the current springs.

Cheers mate! Amazing the difference a new set of shoes makes, I'm extremely happy
