Haha, a few months ago i thought I'd never find one to try and then all of a sudden 2 pop up in the space of a couple of weeks and they're both mine

I still have the chromed EF grill. Hands down it's my favourite out of the lot so it will definitely be going back on at some stage. I was thinking of doing something like what you were doing with the mesh, but I'm still trying to get my head around how I'm going to get the mesh to sit there and cover the holes from where the original insert slots into. I want the edges of the mesh covered with like a chrome/gloss black strip if that makes sense, but i have no idea what i could use as the strip. So the look I'll be going for is like the FBT style grill, but with the outer part chrome and the mesh insert in gloss black.

Earlier today, i pulled out the airbox to seal off the edges a bit better. At first i was using some PVC edge trim, very thin stuff and didn't really fill up the gap between the airbox edges and the inside of the guard. Had some rubber bonnet seals of a Ford Laser or something sitting around in the garage which came in handy. Also sealed off the airbox outlet where the intake pipe passes through the rear panel. Made up a couple more bracket to secure the lid down properly and bolted it all back in.

All sealed off..

All back in..

Also decided to remove my cluster tonight as i had some lint sitting behind the clear cover which annoyed the s**t out of me.

Pulled it apart and thought, I'm gonna mod this sucker, somehow

Had a bit of that carbon fiber film left so took out the faceplate and wrapped it. b**ch of a job, but it came up alright, the carbon fiber jazzes it up a bit.

That is all

the 'carbon' cluster faceplate looks f**k sweet...... much better than any painted faceplate

the only thing it needs is matching carbon fibre cluster dials so it all looks like one piece.

PM me a decent sized pic (google images?) that closely resembles the same pattern & colour of what youve got on the faceplate, and i'll whip up some dials that you could get printed off.......

Thanks mate, yeah actually looks pretty cool. Something a bit different to break up all the black on the dash. Although after doing the faceplate, I have now found I am completely over the blue LED's inside the cluster, so picked up some white LED's from Jaycar which will be a straight replacement as they come mounted in holders. Will also have a muck around with the trip computer, odometer and climate control and change the LCD colour over to blue and have the buttons light up white - not sure how well it will turn out but we'll see how it goes.

I'll see if i can find a decent picture of the stuff and I'll send it through to you via PM

Cheers.

:D I have wanted some of those for ages. I'll admit I haven't really tried to find them though. CAT No/Part No? :P

If they are the ones i am thinking of, they aren't the brightest. I've tried a couple.

Part number is: ZD0384 for the white ones

Will throw them in tomorrow as i still have to pick up another 2 that i had to get ordered in. The blue ones i have in right now are bright, but the shade of blue is pretty dark for an LED. I'm hoping the white ones will give a more natural appearance.

Hopefully they aren't too dull then, i guess if they are i can always buy brighter LED's and solder them in place of the ones already in these bulb holders as the resistors are all there, or just buy some T5 wedge LED's and go that way. I'll give them a try and see how they go though, maybe get some pic's up if the camera can pick it up the light.

6 are needed just for the gauges, correct? I don't want to do any of the warning lights.
