Thanks bud
Yep, the park lights are a separate bulb altogether. I'm s**t with explanations, but if you untwist the access cover off the back of the headlight to get to the normal low beam, next to the low beam bulb, you'll see 2 wires (IIRC, one of the wires is pink) going to a black connector which has a white rubber grommet/seal type thing around it and that's where the park light bulb is. Just pull the black connector straight out and it'll slide out from the rubber grommet/seal - the rubber grommet can go hard and turn brittle because of the heat from the bulb so it may taking a little forcing lol. Then you can just pull the bulb from the connector, replace it with a new one, then push it back into the rubber grommet. The parkers are t10 style bulbs. Hope that helps |

KWIKXR, I owe you a beer! Thought i had a wiring problem all along with my parkers, but now all good!!
Changed them both with my footwell courtesy lights (same size). What type were yours, because they look much whiter than mine.

Mine are just a couple of T10's from Jaycar, exactly like this, but i flattened the tips and scuffed them up with some sandpaper to disperse the light from more angles http://www.convert2xenon.co.uk/182-726-large/led-bulb-led-501-w5w-t10-white.jpg I must say that pic i took really does make them appear like they light up the whole headlight real well, almost like HID's . They are no way near as bright as that, they light up pretty much the same as std filament bulbs, only white. I had a pair of these http://www.hq-auto-lighting.co.uk/images/T10-5SMD-WHITE.jpg in there before and they lit up awesome because there are 5 SMD LED's in the one unit giving off light in very wide spread. But because they are not a sealed unit, the LED's burnt out real quick from the heat of the low beam bulb. If you can find a similar set but in a sealed unit, they would be the best ones to use. |

Oh, I actually should have some of those white LED's somewhere.. I bought them for my footwell lights IIRC but I found they weren't bright enough for that. Thanks!

Haha yeah there will always be mixed opinions, it all comes down to personal preference. What someone may like, someone else may not etc etc.
It's all good though, I like the look of it, gives it a bit more style and something a lot nicer to look at.. Just wish i could carry on the theme through-out the interior, but i don't want to ditch the LTD grain either |

Thanks A-Bone . The cluster does look great now i reckon, took the EF for a spin the other day and it's a massive improvement over the EL dials with CF faceplate. So now that's all done, it's on to bigger things
Which brings me to this.. I think i have decided to finally do things right... and boost the Fairmont.. Something hit me the other day when i was sussing out prices for some parts for the head, and i realized that i can work this baby N/A all i like, but it's still going to be a fairly heavy car at the end of the day, therefore it will still feel pretty average once it's done. So.. I'm going the supercharger route, just something basic, with around 200kw at the wheels would be nice for a decent street cruiser me thinks.. At the moment, I'm considering the only 2 feasible options to me.. Snort M112 kit or the Raptor kit, still weighing them up against each other at the moment. Obviously, this won't be getting done for a long while, but if I'm gonna go that route i may as well stop with the engine for now and start working towards a good setup for when the blower arrives - should be fun |
