Two things i noticed that may be your issue.
1 3650rpm for torque figure. 2 Extremely rich AFR in mid to high RPM I would suggest that maybe your BBM is faulty. The RPM figure for max torque is about where the BBM switches over, and with the change in airflow from long to short runners you may find that this will fix some of your AFR issues. Just food for thought. Brett

Just food for thought. Brett Hey Brett, Thanks for the suggestion mate!! Makes sense, might have to go have a play around with it soon and see if the BBM solenoid is switching over. Come to think of it, every dyno sheet I have seen of an i6 with BBM has a dip in the curve where the BBM switch over point is and this one doesn't. Cheers SLO247 wrote: I agree that its a good figure for an auto, it sounds like there is easily more in it too Hope so mate, if it's something like what Brett has described above, then it might wake up a hell of lot when fixed wtbdlltd wrote: man if that is what yours is putting out i rekon i would be lucky to be geting 80kw in mine lol. Keep up the good work Hahaha, thanks mate |

How much was that dyno day worth to you mate?

fiend wrote: How much was that dyno day worth to you mate? $115 inc . Got quite a few runs done too, I think about 8 or 9 in total, plus a few others where it would kick back to 3rd. I must say at full song and bouncing off the limiter, it does sound pretty good for a 6 Well, just had a quick look at the BBM solenoid, seems the actuator rod moves freely by hand but it was a bit too late at night to fire her up and give it a few good revs to see if it activates properly by vacuum - will check that tomorrow though, was too busy thrashing my uncle's SV6 rental Removed the EL flex bend from the intake though, the bastard was a bit old and had a small split between the ribs, so it's got a couple of blue joiners thrown in now and looks much better. Just have to get a 180deg 3" pipe off the T/B to get rid of the rubber EL bend which is rubbing on the rocker cover.. On top of that, the passenger side front window reg just died - hope pick a part has something for me.. |

AU's have different setup

Hey Lukas, what he said ^^
When I had the BA pipe on the EF I just blocked off the PCV piece on the piping with a big as bolt and some sealant. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While I'm here... - Window reg has been replaced and all is good again - Received my new subwoofer, its quite big - Checked the BBM vacuum solenoid for the butterflies and it is switching over as per normal so that rules that out as being the cause of low torque and very rich mixtures. Could be a stuffed MAP sensor dumping excessive fuel so will check that and maybe put the spare one in and see if it makes any difference. Will also check the coolant temp sensor and double check all the vac lines too. Went down to the local tube bending joint and picked up some 3" ally mandrel bends to mock up the intake piping. Will cut them up and sort out something a little better than what I currently have; the EL rubber elbow off the T/B is rubbing on the rocker cover and has worked its way through the paint . Was gonna get stainless but the price would have been a bit more than I would have liked to have spent, plus ally will be a little more easier for me to work with.. While I was there I ended up scoring a couple of offcut 4" mandrel bends and a straight 4" piece in stainless steel for free so thats the turbo intake sorted for when that eventually happens |

The sub looks chunky. Are you going to resume work on the boot install?
I've decided to do one for the Fairlane. False floor and walls (aside from behind the tails) and a wall across the ridge below the parcel shelf, with the sub and amp mounted on it and the sub box built behind. Its a waste of some boot space, but its huge to start with anyway. I'll be keeping a keen eye on yours, I've never worked with wood before. |

I'll try to.....
I've seriously lost the motivation with it lately, mainly because there is so many other little niggling issues with the rest of the car... Still need to buy more MDF for the boot install, still need to pick up a matching amp to power the sub - looking at a SoundMagus DK1800 at the moment as its a cheap class D mono (<$300) that can supply the power I need (~1000wrms @ 2ohm) and is fairly compact - apparently they work well so we'll just have to wait and find out lol. Also need thicker power and earth cabling too for peace of mind since I'll be pumping a couple hundred more RMS than I was originally going to with the other planned setup. Will also need carpet and other bits and pieces etc. Since I'll eventually go turbo, I want to relocate the battery to the boot so I have to consider that and think about how thats gonna work with the rest of the install.. It's all a big damn head f**k for me at the moment but I'll work through it I got the weekend off so might pop down to Bunnings and Jaycar, see what I can grab, hopefully make a start on the walls and the handles for the pop out panels and try get back into it. I think I might have just found a place who can supply the correct carpet for me so if things go to plan I'll grab a couple of metres worth next week sometime. |

you won't need 1000rms, i run 2 12's at 1000rms each with a 1600rms amp. and i've got it on half and its still to loud lol. but then atleast the powers there if ya feel the need.
that sub looks the goods |

But yeah, 1000rms should be plenty and still go fairly loud. Hell, my 200rms sub amp combo right now goes alright Well the original plans of going to Bunnings this morning flew out the window when my uncle rang up and said his telsta TX5 had no clutch pedal. So me and the old man went over and had a look, basically the clutch pedal would just go straight to the floor without any pressure and not return. The uncles place is close to the engine parts place so I went there while they had a fiddle with the car. I bought some intake valves, a new set of spark plugs and some more silicon vacuum hose. I got a pretty good score there, $20 for the set of plugs, $15 for 4ft of 6mm silicon hose and $7.50 for a set of 6 intake valves . He charged me the individual unit price for the valves but forgot to multiply it by 6 hahahaha, thanks bro!!! So went back to my uncles place, turned out it was a split clutch hose, letting out fluid and letting it a whole heap of air so we ducked out to pick a part where we got lucky. Of about 15 telsta's and mazda equivalents only one was a manual and luckily still had the cable so we snapped it up. Also went and had a quick squizz at the ford's and first car on the row was a EF2 Ghia. Was pretty stripped out, the top half of the engine was gone because it was ticky spec. Only things left for me to grab were 3 chrome interior door handles which were sitting there already removed - strange enough. Leather seats, woodgrain trims were all damaged though. There is a grey leather handbrake with chrome button and a chrome plated plastic centre piece on the grill that I may grab tomorrow. Then we decided to go, but not before I spotted another EF Fairmont at the end of the row, so quickly went and checked it out and scored another aftermarket headlight in pretty much brand new condition - best thing was it was the opposite side to the one I also picked up from Pick a Part a few months back so now I have pair f**k, I love scoring good parts at Pick a Part, one of the next best things to sex possibly Went back to my uncles, fitted the replacement hose, topped up the fluid, bled the air out and now it has a clutch pedal with good feel So now the original plans for today might occur tomorrow - hopefully. Will probably get some pic's up later if I throw the new headlights on. The end |

The leather handbrakes are rare. If you grab it for me, I'll make it well worth your while. I haven't Been able to get one. If you want to earn a few bucks, help me out
