The trans cooler kit was $149 thru Supercheap Auto . The engine bay is terribly filthy at the moment, dust and s**t everywhere so I'm doing a fairly big clean up on it today. Still, it's the cheapest place for a run out of the 2 or 3 other well renowned places which were quite a bit more. Will be interesting to see what she can spin up on the rollers  SLO247 wrote: Sweet! At the end of the day its just an NA 6cyl with a cam, exhaust and intake upgrade so I'm not expecting too much but something around there would be respectable thru the ol' slushbox. I reckon the NF should crack 100rwkw mate, get a proper exhaust on it and it will for sure and sound good doing so

8am aye, just don't drink anything with coke in it, i recon thats what gives the hangovers like woodys, i'm sweet as with vodka/beer the next day. $100+gst is bloody good, you might be surprised what she hits

I think it has the potential to surprise me for sure, it does feel quite strong some days and feels real torquey through the midrange, but on other days it feels like it isn't running as good as it usually does  so it better be one of those days where it's running good when it's on the dyno lol. I'm just hoping it doesn't bring the wrong kind of surprise and breaks something at full noise

Got the oil and filter change done last night and fitted the trans cooler up today.
Modded the original mounts for the factory ext. cooler and bolted the cooler up pretty much in the exact same position as where the factory one sits, hooked it up so it runs in series with the radiator cooler too as that's what most trans places have recommended to do with a street car. Might need to spray the cooler black as the silver stands out a bit too much, but I'll get around to it eventually.  Also removed the grey plastic airdam thing that mounts behind the bumper. Heaps of room for a 600x300 intercooler down there now   Gave it a quick wash in the afternoon, cleaned up the engine bay and took it out for a few snaps out near one of the new local Ford offices.     While I'm here I may as well note that as of a few miuntes ago I just bought a Pioneer TS-W3001D4, kinda saw it on Trade Me for a pretty decent price and bought it on impulse . A little different from what I had planned to use, but this might actually work out better than what I originally had in mind. Will have to go looking around for an amp that put outs at least 1000wrms @ 2ohm to power the sucker now

Bargain on the sub!
Car looks sexy as always. I need to find some concordes to try on the nf. Been thinking about LTD wheels too though... Should be over there in a few months to see the family. I'd be keen to meet you if your keen. |

Haha, Repco Clearance FTW Concordes would suit the NF to a tee, in saying that, the 16" DL LTD rims would look killer on it too. Well it's not that bad over here, but the GST just went up to 15% and there weather lately all around the country has been fkn terrible. I think this weekend just gone may have been the only one in a month or 2 where there has been no rain

And if you can get both your respective asses down closer to Wellington before the new tyres go on the back you can take turns at smoking these old 255's off the rims...
Just an idea. I in no way condone wasting rubber and would never seriously consider breaking any road use laws in the slightest. IN fact, since Wellington is about half way up the country, we should get the Duno's and Chch lads up and do something between the hours of 7am and 9am (I'll starting and returning to the Massey carpark a minutes walk from my house, funnily enough, but you guys can stay out past my bedtime. I don't mind....) |

Yeah man, had quite a bit of weird weather recently. Today was a ripper of a day though, nice warm and sunny - probably one of the better days we've had up here, too bad it's a fricken Monday though Now that you mention it, yeah GST won't be too much different - I always assume the worst when it comes to tax rates rising. Then again, the decrease in income tax will be hardly noticeable too, i think I'll get an extra $8 in the hand a week

The weather has been crap here too, so no worries there
We will go to the Sunshine Coast in QLD for a week, and then come down there to Aoteroa for a week to see you Pakeha  I'm only part Maori, so I'm still white too in case you are now wondering Sunny QLD will give me my nice weather fix. Can't wait! |
