Get into the garage, stat!

VB is vile, there are much nicer Beers here. Come to think of it, I've never had any Kiwi Beer. I'm actually still trying to figure out a way to get L&P here regularly  I'd be very happy to reimburse you for sending me a box over :D

Good to hear you got away for a bit anyway, its always nice to see family.

I have been looking at some brand name splits for around the $200 mark new on Ebay Aus, just unsure on them for some reason.

Haha, I pretty much grew up around everyone drinking VB so I'm used to it. Fails in comparison to Steinlager Pure though, that stuff is godly

Troy, you can't really go wrong with a 5 speed EF. Even if it is GLi spec, an XR or Fairmont/Fairlane front etc is a pretty easy mod providing you can source all the bits you need

SLO, we had trouble finding L&P while we were living in Sydney back some 10 years ago. Did manage to find some little NZ shop somewhere and paid something ridiculous for a couple of cans though lol. On Saturday morning, my uncle took us out to this place in Sydney, somewhere out West IIRC called Macquarie Fields, not far out of Glenfield. Lol, the surrounding area is full of polynesians, so it was exactly like Auckland. Place is called Palms Pacific Supermarket, part of the Glenquarie shopping centre. They pretty much have every NZ food you can think of really, including lots of L&P  http://www.palmspacific.com.au

Lol @ FordFairmont..

Here's a few happy snaps of the Uncle's Mustang and a little vid I grabbed of it idling. Pity I didn't bring the camera when he took me for a ride and scared the s**t out me and surprised himself

Not sure on all the specific's of the so I can only know from what he told me and what I can see. Bought it already fully resprayed in Caspian Blue and with the interior retrimmed in white/cream and black vinyl, the rest of the car was bog stock. Now has a brand new dash fascia and cluster fitted with all Autometer Phantom gauges, basic stereo setup with front and rear Pioneer 6" speakers I believe, with a custom original style Mustang headunit but with the Ipod, MP3 etc aux input, most of which was brought in from the states.

It was running a 289w when he first bought it which he lightly hotted up before turfing it for the new motor. New motor was a 351w base, now stroked out to 396ci, alloy Edelbrock heads, Edelbrock air gap manifold, MSD ignition, Holley 750cfm DP carb from memory, massive 4" thick K&N filter poking through the bonnet, 4 into 1 extractors which are HPC'd, into a custom 2.5" exhaust with 1 muffler per side and no cats - yes, it is very very loud. Not too sure on the comp ratio or cam specs etc, but the cam is pretty lumpy and my uncle keeps saying how the lack of vacuum is having quite a big effect on the braking system due to the profile of the cam . The motor is good for well over 500hp according to guy who built the motor, he did an awesome job with it too, looks and sounds fantastic and it f**k flies!!! Trans is a rebuilt C4 auto, with shiftkit and a 3500rpm stall. Diff is a brand new 9" LSD with 3.5:1 gears. It's got slotted disc brakes and twin piston calipers up front from a BA falcon and AFAIK just reconditioned drums in the rear, converted to steering rack and pinion etc, slightly lowered suspension and sits on a set of polished 15" Dragway Pro's. Has heaps of other brand new bits and pieces too like brand new chrome trims and window seals all round, billet grill and lots of other billet brackets, caps, fittings etc. Still has the original 'Mustang 289' guard badges for the sleeper look LOL. Lots of attention to detail.

Drives really well all in all, nice and smooth and has heaps of grunt on tap. Just stabbing the throttle randomly was enough to kick the rear end out instantly and leave 2 black trails hehehe. On a couple of occasions where it did decide to hook up well when flooring it on a 40-50mph roll, the front almost lifted up. Pretty amazing just cruising in it though, has a wicked rumble to it. Best part about it would have to be looking through the windscreen at the massive filter shaking through the bonnet when it's idling at the lights 8-)

It's actually the windscreen washer fluid bag, as per factory, also a brand new item lol. I was flipping out when I saw all the Mustangs at the AFD last year with the factory bags fitted, I was like WTF is that?

There is another custom tank he has mounted just to the right of the radiator, I'm assuming that would be the coolant reservior/overflow.

Hey mate, not yet unfortunately.. Was planning to start pulling out the front splits and amp yesterday till it randomly started bucketing down

Fitted up that blue gates belt on Monday, but thats about it .
Image

Hoping the rain will stay away today so I can at least get started on replacing the amp and splits
