Cheers Slo . Boot install should look a little better once the new amps and IDQ's go in eventually. Thinking about maybe redoing the walls and sub box in black vinyl and leave the boot floor in carpet, but we'll see.

f**k, I wish I could afford a set of FR19's!! We are so limited in wheel choice here in NZ, I reckon we don't even have the FR copies available here yet. Would love a set of dark argents in 19" to be honest, but I haven't come across any over here in e-series offset :x

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun finally decided to pop out not long ago.. Managed to an oil and filter change done for my 235,000km interval, did a little bit of cleaning up in the engine bay and vinyl dyed a leather handbrake cover I picked up from Pick a part a couple of weeks ago. Just fitted the new cover with a better chrome button and it looks much better. Now I'm off to have a crack at fixing up the driver's seat base mount and maybe have a go at wiring up the relay and s**t for the driving lights. Not gonna bother with a switch after driving around on the weekend and seeing the amount of newer cars these days getting around with driving lights on at night with their low beams.

Those SSA Eagles are quite nice, it's one option I'm considering when it comes time for new shoes, plus the local wheel shop had all 3 variations last time I dropped in. There's also Koya Octanes and Koya Menis available in e-series offset and a couple of choices from ION and Versus which are kind of based around old skool styled wheels but in larger diameters. So yep, definitely a few out there, just seems the better looking/styled wheels always seem to be different offsets.

Yeh i think it all comes down to your budget, if your happy buying new then your away laughing, but on the second hand market theres not much around, well in my area anyway, but these things take time, i just wait for things to come to me, got the extractors t5 etc this way and has worked out well for me. You still going to go manual sometime man?

Was considering it not so long ago, mainly because I started getting into driving the Fairmont like it was manual lol, the gearbox hasn't liked it much though. There was a fair few T5 conversions around on Trade Me, around the $600-$800 mark for everything you need, but then if I do go ahead and turbo it later on, the T5 will commit suicide with the way I would abuse it lol. Will just stick with the BTR for now and see how it goes.

Also on a side note, I just made a purchase on Trade Me which has emptied out my bank account for this week.... FFS I need to learn to stop buying things when my bank account says otherwise. Doesn't matter though, reco'd Bilstein short stroke shocks with rates increased for a fast road setup and Sabre 50mm lowering springs should go alright in the Fairmont's rear end. Front end will eventually need to renewed as well, probably sooner rather than later.

Bloody hell, spending up! :D

I wouldn't go near the boot install with vinyl. Carpet looks excellent, don't change it!

That boot install is just pure sex! Don't wanna buy some Boyd Coddingtons for the 'mont do ya? I really wanna buy a set of FR20's. Production has started on them again and are available from Tempe Tyres in OZ. Now with the addition of 20's!!

Yeah worth doing the conversion, I only drive my mont on the weekends due to having a work van for work, but i feel sorry for the mont, it gets out of the garage on the weekend and gets raped all weekend then parked up again. Thinking of going down the turbo route now too, mate owns a wreckers so can easily get a turbo, got a mate who is a engineer so can weld up some extractors, half the puzzle solved, just waiting to get that winning lotto ticket lol!

That's the one mate, spending up.. too bad my hourly rate doesn't go up to compensate  I'll see how things go with the boot install, after seeing what can be done with vinyl, I'm keen to give it a go. If I do go carpet again, it will be something thinner next time round - the stuff I've got right now is something comparable to interior carpet so just a tad to thick.

Cheers mate, should be a bit sexier with a pair of 12's and some nicer amps. Hahaha, the boyd's might be a bit too old skool for the look I'm after bud... if I had an XD-XF or something, I'd take them, f**k yeah!! :P.

FR20's are better than sex. Evidence below..

Hahaha, poor mont. Lucky these cars are fairly reliable so you can thrash them a bit and not worry too much

Anyways, I'm off to unbox some stuff. Might throw a pic or 2 up later..
