So this has officially been J3'd 8-)

Put it in yesterday arvo and only had time to take it around the block but it went awesome!

I was out most of the day today, but dad drove it and asked what I'd done to it haha

Anyway I've been cruising it a bit tonight with some mates and F**k me does it go now :|

When its idling in reverse or drive its super smooth it doesn't feel like its on. At WOT it revs right out to 5500RPM if I let it and shifts into second with minimal delay. It also holds the gears a bit longer so when taking off from a set of lights I can't help but let it keep going lol! Acceleration is heaps smoother too

Definitely a credit to Jason from TI Performance.

Now to sort out a whining noise every time I steer to the right :(

Also a bit over the 17s that are on it so might go back to 15s unless I can find some 19" GTPs in pre AU offset or something with more dish and width

brings back memories of my old EB XR6, also i think your car looked best by far when it had the EL GT wheels on it.

Thanks dude!

It never had EL GTs on it but if you mean the stock XR rims then yeah, it did look good on them and I'm contemplating putting them back on actually..

Over the AJR copies!

I'm seriously considering the MC Racing Simmons replicas if they ever come out in Pre AU offset...

I agree with the el gt rims. They look pretty cool on a black eb xr6

Yeah that would've been Ev wanting to sell up lol..

The EB will hopefully be around forever unless something happens to it.

EL GT rims are nice but there are never any cheap sets in NSW and personally I love wheels with dish.

I wish my EB looked as good as those three do haha :(

Update time.

This has done an aux shaft due to a dodgy aftermarket distributor put into it when the motor was built at the start of the year.

Its under warranty so there should be no hassles getting another replacement XR engine.

Mechanic has been hounded and questioned as to why a genuine bosch was not installed as requested by both myself and engine company (who have a policy whereby genuine parts must only be used on new engines)
Needless to say that mechanic will not be touching it again!

Not really fussed as the outcome should swing my way regardless, its just more of a hassle as I have to use dads car and I feel bad because the cars not mine.

The positive side is I've been living in luxury for the past two weeks driving the AU :P
It has aircon, drives smooth and handles well despite its 4wd height.
Gets me around 500km to a tank of 98 too!

The search for a decent manual AU3 XR6/8 has begun!
Or maybe a BF Ghia...
And the EB will sit in storage til the day I become rich lol...

OR I splurge and fix up the EB.
No idea what to do.
One side of me says its not worth it realistaclly and the other side says yeah but it'll look/go/drive sick!

I'm in no hurry but so don't expect much.
Probably going to change jobs soon so I need to wait and see.

More updates will come soon!

Cheers Luke!

Good luck with all the hassles.....

Au xr definitely!

That St in penrith (mentioned in an earlier post) has been reduced to $5500..... that would be an absolute goer for me if I wanted a sedan... but I'm really after a au xr6 ute

I enquired about it, looks a bit rough and the guys only owned it for a few months...
I found old pics of it on google images (gotta love google) and it used to have an XR50 front bar on it. I reckon its had a slight tap on the left hand front...
He said the paint needs a good buff, the interior has a few tears in it and regos due in January.

There's one on carsales in VIC for 9 which I would pay that much for but then its like well I could buy a decent BF Ghia for that money?

Sort out the EB first then look into it more :)

There's a few XR8 utes about?

I'd get a ute if it was more practical for me :/

Fair enough about the au... might as well get the best deal U can-theres always something better if you look thoroughly. I'm esp keen on the BF Fairmont ghias in Kashmir! Obviously you wouldn't be able to get a manual.. but then you'd get the zf. ;-)

Would like an 8.........but yeah, ill have to be satisfied with 6 for now >:( iykwim

Finally had some win!!!

For starters I got the car back after 2 months :x so I'm quite happy now.

The motor was rebuilt under warranty with everything being cleaned and checked and a new aux shaft being fitted.

Drained the oil today and filled it with new stuff and the old oil still had tiny bits of metal filings in it

Will drain it again after I drive it for a bit.

Replaced the alternator today too as the old one was the original 21 year old one lol..
Big thanks to Troyman for saving me some time and money tracing a new one down!

I must say the car is driving awesomely at the moment.
Feels a lot better then the first time it was rebuilt!

I've been driving it for an hour or so just around the area, can't wait to drive it properly.

See how it goes now as if it f**k up again a court case is in order...
