As I'm dead from an exhausting week of being in Melbourne and then Lithgow yesterday, I CBF unpacking so I thought I'd update here!

Attempted to fit the battery tray last weekend, was a massive fail lol

It seems the battery tray in the EB is welded in and the car I removed a battery tray from at the wreckers was just bolted to the engine bay.

I'm guessing they're welded from factory and the car I removed the battery tray from has probably had it replaced at some stage of its life!

Fitted some slime-line weather shields which I'm still undecided on but damn the front ones are functional!
Surprisingly the 3M tape they're held on with is pretty damn strong as they're still on after some freeway driving.

Last weekend I washed the girl after almost a month of filth due to rain, dirt roads and bugs. I decided to try a new look simply due to getting over the way its looked for the last two years so I removed the spoiler.

Some s**t quality iPhone pics:

Needs more XR bootlip!

Anyway, I need some new front tyres as its feeling a bit unstable at speed and I'm a bit suspect on them :/
Would like some new shocks/lower front springs too but need the guards rolled...

Otherwise besides the vacuum hose on the map sensor popping off every time I put it in reverse lol, no issues to report.

It looked nice and shiny when I saw you coming down Kleins rd yesterday. You didn't even wave back. Rude!

I was in the 323 though. Probably wouldn't recognise it.

The last time I saw it, when I was walking home from the Pub, being all responsible and s**t, it sounded pretty good soaring over the hills of The Hills.

The weathershields are a good investment. Simply to stop water from dripping directly into your lap because of the way the body is shaped.

s**t what time?

I drove through there in the morning on the way to and from supercheap then a bit later on going to parra and back!

Haha I felt really bad when I saw you that time, I wasn't sure whether you were just going for a walk (as you do) or on your way home.

I'll stop next time!

Yeah I always get up it there haha, its a bit too loud atm, need to check the exhaust bolts!

I just had my window down in the rain, felt awesome 8-)

Brief update on this rig.

Let it get a bit down on fuel last week and it started driving like a cvnt with no power under load and just running like crap so I decided to disconnect the battery and reset the computer.

Dumb cvnt me disconnected the negative side only (Had been studying all day, I didn't think), closed the bonnet and before you know it the stupid car locks on its own :x
Couldn't even open it with the key!
So the NRMA dude came out and broke into within a matter of a few minutes lol.
Its quite scary how easy it can be done actually

Anyway that all happened Saturday arvo and it is now Tuesday and it seems to be running a bit better with some more driving.
It still has a miss when my foot is about halfway down but I can live with that until I have time to get its 10K km service and they can change the fuel filter when its on a hoist as I can never undo them lol!
Might get the injectors cleaned too..

Also won something sorta by accident on ebay last week lol, see if you can notice a difference:

After:

Its a very discreet mod, but I won some genuine clear side indicators for a good price on egay 8-)
They're a bit darker then the aftermarket clear indicators which I think blend in a lot better with the black paint and is something I've wanted to add for a long time.
Also want to try and add some park lights to them, but thats a mod for another day!

I'll get some better pictures of it when this wind f**k off as its so dusty atm, gotta love the August winds

Cheers,
Luke

Getting a new cat welded on tomorrow as I suspect mines finally blocked itself while also rattling away and goes in on Wednesday to get its 10000 km service and hopefully the oil leaks fixed (for warranty purposes)

Failing the suspected blocked cat fixing the power loss, I will get the injectors cleaned etc...

If that does nothing then I will burn it.

Also planning to get a J3 chip to help when it gets converted to manual which should make it drive a bit better.

Then new springs/shocks/bigger front swaybar end of the year and tossing up between some new wheels funds permitting as I want something a bit wider then whats on it at the moment.

Cars are funny, last week I wanted to burn this heap of s**t, today I think I've fallen back in love with this beauty of a car.

After getting a second opinion from a mechanic mate, it was evident to him that the dizzy was out a couple of teeth as the timing couldn't be advanced anymore. It was that advanced that it was hitting the throttle body and had no more adjustment in it

He spent this morning pulling it all out and re-fitting the distributor then set the timing etc..

I'm pleased to report that the EB now feels like it did 10 months ago before the old engine carked it 8-)

I'm no mechanical genius as evident but after looking at the location of the dizzy now and where it was previously its evident that it was not adjusted properly from the start.

The original mechanic will not be getting any more business from myself or family members. He is great with automatic trasmissions but anything other he is a lazy f**k.

I'm not sure whats next for the EB now that its running good, money will be a bit scarce for the next few weeks but I will push to get the injectors cleaned and possibly a J3 chip but no promises unfortunately...

I've got lots of motivation now though lol so who knows what stupid things I'll do
