So my names Luke, I've been floating around on the various forums and have now recently decided to start a thread of my own..
The car at hand is a black pearl 92 eb xr6 which is pretty much original. Only downside is it's an auto and has had the bootlip spoiler replaced with a bigger ed xr spoiler My dad's owned the car since 2004 and since the start of the year has basically become mine. It came with the momo steering wheel with the only real/regular mods being: - 2 1/2 inch exhaust - extractors - lowered with pedders shocks and springs - urethane bushes throughout - k&n panel filter - aftermarket kenwood headdeck and speakers Almost everything has been replaced or rebuilt mechanically bar the engine which now needs some attention (has over 300K on the clock and the timing chain guides are gone) so an engine rebuild is on the cards at the end of the year. Money providing, a respray might be on the cards as the bonnet and roof are fairly faded and If I can find a decent bootlip spoiler for cheapish i'll probably snap that up too. Hopefully buying an EL wagon fuel flap for a smoothed look on the passenger side tomorrow too. Other then that, basically all that will be done to it will be the occasional interior mod and just general maintenance. It serves it's purpose well as a daily and still goes quite well considering it's age and minimal mods done to it.. Anyway, enough with the chit chat, here's some pics... And this is probably the most recent... It hasn't changed much throughout all these pics and it's pretty clean for a 19 year old car (pics probably make it look cleaner then it is haha) Will go out and get some more pics when i have some time... Cheers, Luke.

Very very nice.
Saw you a month ago or so on Abbot road. I couldn't believe that there was another Black pearl S-XR6 so close to home. Hit up BenJ. He has some smooth filler flaps to sell.

Been a while since I've posted any updates as not a lot has happened..
Anyway most recent mod was clear indicators: And because i thought it looked cool: I'm still in two minds as to whether i like them or not but i think they will grow on me, they sorta make it look a lot cleaner and more modern. I realised i have no interior or engine bay shots so here's a few for now, both need a clean! And I found these for a good price so thought i'd give the car a bit of a present: They're 19" pre-au dark argents so they won't require spacers. There's a few scratches and gutter marks however for the price i picked them up for i'm not complaining! They need new tyres otherwise they'd be on by now! (Hopefully they fit ) Anyway, Thanks for looking Cheers, Luke

Chucked on some AU clear side repeaters today..
Had to mount them back to front as I was in a rush and needed the car but will look into way's to get them to sit properly soon as they look a lot better when mounted correctly! Will get more pics... Also replaced the Idle speed controller for a brand newy as the car was idling quite badly as though it wanted to stall... It was a bit of a gamble as it could have been anything really but i took a long shot and well it seems to be idling perfectly now! Anyway a picture: Nothing really that interesting, but here's something else I'm working on atm: That's a really dodgy picture, but basically it's an EL wagon fuel flap which is metal and has no finger pull giving a much cleaner look Gave it a coat of primer then paint and it turned out perfect to my amazement! I'd just missed a few spots so decided it needed another coat... I think I got a bit to keen and started sanding it back a bit too early That was my first attempt at spraying something so I might try it again sometime this week! Anyway, Thanks for reading Cheers, Luke

I mounted the AU repeaters the correct way around yesterday and thought i'd throw up some pics of where to cut the plastic clip as the tech document has lost it's pictures for some reason.
Where I have cut the clips was just a guess that's proved to work so far haha, so criticism accepted if I'm wrong! You will need an orange T10 wedge globe ($2-$3 from repco) The bulb holder also needs to be modified however I didn't get a close up of this. You may however be able to see in the picture that on an EB-ED bulb holder it has four tabs. The AU repeaters on require two tabs so it is necessary to cut two opposing tabs off. The holder itself is rubber of some sort so cutting carefully with a stanley knife will be fine. The grey moulding will also need to be trimmed slightly, I probably took a bit too much off however it doesn't make that much of a difference. I did this with a stanley knife: Now for the "fun" part! The clips on the AU repeaters won't clear the piece of metal behind the hole (see picture) In order for it to do so they must be trimmed down slightly so that the plastic clip can attach onto the piece of metal. The complication I had was that my clips needed to be cut to different lengths as the metal parts behind the guards were positioned differently. The following picture shows where I had originally cut the clip for the drivers side and I have shown (with yellow paint) how much more had to be cut for the passenger side guard. So basically before you go hacking away do some kind of rough measurement otherwise you may need new indicators! Oh and of course the finished product: This was the first time I had attempted this mod and it took me all of 10 minutes. It is quite simple as you really only need a thin screw driver (to remove old indicator) a sharp stanley knife to trim the moulding and a hack saw to cut the clip down. Also remember to clean the moulding with armour all or something as the mark left from where the old indicator was can be seen. All in all quite a cheap (cost $30 on ebay + $3 for globes) and easy mod, however just be mindful when cutting the clip to length. And a happy snap or two: I also plan to try and spray the insides of the clear indicators like BenJ's idea however I'm thinking of going a dark/light grey to match the insides of my headlights as much as possible. Anyway thanks for reading Cheers, Luke

Mate, that paint looks immaculate in that area. Mine's ok, except for the 10,000,000 scratches
Are you gonna go on the Bathurst cruise?

Thanks mate haha The rear of the car has been sprayed as has the passenger side (got keyed a few years ago) but the roof and bonnet are quite crap paint wise haha At this stage yes, trying to con the girlfriend into coming along haha Hope the weather holds up though
