I've been keeping an eye out at local wreckers, papers, ebay and auction places. I've only seen one or two at the most AU LTDs, and they're driving around not for sale as a wreck, yet

hahahaha yea.

just smash into them so then it has to be wrecked out

My DC is going to the bodyworks tomorrow to be fixed, finally

It did leave a patch of power steering fluid on the garage floor, so it's still leaking from somewhere..

I also brought my ute home today, I'll only really be using it to drive to work just down the road though :?

I sort of forgot what driving a 'real' car feels like.

I took some photos of my DC when moving it out of the garage the day before it went back to the bodyworks:

Image

This is how it looked after the repair job was completed:

Image

The bodyworks said they couldn't find a replacement clear indicator and that they made one good one from two bad ones. It doesn't look factory..

The original from the undamaged right hand side: Image

This is the 'good' one they made: Image

I'm not really thrilled with it, but they did fix the bar position, bar mount, scratches, and the light trim which looks good I reckon.

Now all the alloys are on I really want to lower it after seeing these photos

Also I bought an exhaust tip on Thursday, but a subtle one that matches the exhaust size, it's just to neaten it up as the end of the current exhaust is munted. The AU is going to Moonah Mufflers to have the exhaust cut down, reshaped (the combination of a bent and the oval ending to the AU's exhaust will be re-shaped for the round tip) and the tip installed. And all for a quoted $20-25 bucks :D

I'm also going back to the wreckers to have another look at the AU Fairmont dash and maybe put down a deposit too.

Ahh, thanks for that. Makes me wonder why they didn't just buy a whole after market indicator?

No such luck. I don't really have the cash ATM.

I really want the Fairmont dash.. :P then I want to lower it a bit.

Also i was thinking of what I need to do to get my DC registrable:

Power steering (it's leaked again)
2 bushes (Forgot which ones but they're like $20)
Machine front rotors
Rear brake pads
Wiper blades
Replace brake light bulbs
Replace left hand side mirror (doesn't adjust upwards and has a dodgy mirror)

And fit a spare rear left hand window switch. Swap left hand rear door striker, the current one isn't a Ford one and it causes the door to sit in a few mil too far.

It sounds like a low, but I either have the parts needed or they are really cheap (except the power steering gear..).

Oh, and the guy who owns the P6 and the XD has offered me the panel van with the 302C for $600 for the complete vehicle. And i noticed a 302C in need of rebuild in the for sale section on here for $600..

Is $600 for a whole car with box and diff, and a heap of other bits a good deal? It looks like that's what Clevelands fetch.. Ebay doesn't have anything decent or cheap ATM..

majority of that list can be done in your driveway to save costs on labour.

does the van come with the gear box and diff? is so i would probably grab that just to save trying to track down a gear box and all later on. but thats me everyones different :P
