Yeah, getting a tax return done tomorrow..

From that money I'll be buying the XD panel van for the 302C, and a heap of other parts for my XC.

I was going to buy a full set of black leather seats for my AU, it had a power drivers seat. But they were in VIC, and freight was quoted at $575

I was also going to buy the AU Fairmont dash from a local wreckers, but because it's series 1 I won't be able to use the insrument cluster, BCM, climate control, and HUD units. So I could only use the base dash board (when I can get my hands on the AUII/III wiring loom, computer, climate control & HUD..) :x

I might just lower my AU instead

I was also thinking about the wiring stuff on my XF, I want to get some decent looking lights for lighting the tray up. The light's relay will be controlled by the rear demister button. That way the colour of the button backlight changes colour, as well as a jewel on the dash.

But I'm not sure what should control the electric (heater core is disconnected) fan heater.. I've got heaps of spare switches, 5 on the FD console, 3 for the XF rear power windows (useless in a 2 door ute :P).

In the next couple of days I want to finish wiring up the amp, speakers and headunit. I've run a couple of wires, and while doing that I was looking under the steering column and discovered messes of a hundred or so wires (seriously.) there an insane amount
But I spotted an immobiliser unit with remote central locking :D Obviously it isn't wired up though, the central locking isn't connected, and it didn't come with a remote so obviously that isn't connected either.

Another wall of text

when i bought my old laser i felt a lump under the carpet, i lifted it to find the car has a full extensive alarm/immobilizer (bypassed) and central locking, but was missing the computer part of it... but with no idea on how to find out what alarm is is by a bunch of black wires i had to remove it...

sounds like you have some nice plans tho

Yeah you can find some random stuff in cars eh.

While having some internet problems I've done a bit to my ute and stuff.

I reinstalled the headunit, amp and speakers in the XF, it's good to have stuff to listen to again finally. I just need to swap over the door cards and a few bits of trim and the colour conversion will be done.

And i did some simple stuff too, I chucked on some black silicon wiper blades to replace the blue ones that came on my AU, and I also replaced the whole wipers on my DC, looks a lot better and the rubber isn't hanging off them anymore either.

My tax return should be coming in the next week or two, I'll be grabbing the XD panel van with the 302C. The engine will go straight into my XC along with maybe the box and diff, it'll just be for storage and be easier to move it all around until the external bodywork is done, then I'll rebuild the engine.

Oh, I also had the exhaust tip welded on my AU.

Also I siphoned some power steering fluid out of my AU today, I noticed it was a good bit above the full mark.. And I picked up a battery clamp bracket thingy to hold the battery in place for $5 from a wreckers.

And if anyone knows of anyone who wants a full velour interior (minus the front seats only) from a DA LTD, velour door cards with woodgrain, velour console, velour bolsters, seat and 60/40 splits. And front seats to suit X series from a ZL/FE, tan brown in colour.

They need to go really as I don't have the room for them, they'll be cheap and I can arrange photos. They're in good condition, but may need a bit of a clean.

I think that's all at the moment..

Yeah no probs.

I was just browsing Ebay and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 2759.l1259

It's a colour sat nav with woodgrain surround from an AUII Ghia. They were only standard on the LTD's and optional of Fairlanes. They're asking $350 though

But it would go nicely with the automatic climate control, high series dash and black leather and woodgrain door cards/seats I hope to get one day 8-)

Have to see what happens..

True, but that's nearly my whole tax return gone lol. I need to save some cash 'cos I have to move soonish..

I did want to lower my AU a bit.

But I've never seen a highend radio surround with woodgrain for sale, let alone sat nav!

I want it haha..

I had a read through your thread yesterday, looks like you're going pretty well with it?
