Being the tinkerer that I am, I just cant leave anything alone. So I decided to change the background of the instrument cluster to something a little more modern and less 'ugly grey'.
This design was inspired by a WRX.. [/quote Hey man, I absolutey loved reading your thread and have been inspired to say the least! I too am for trying things to see what happens, what have you got to lose! But what I really liked was your cluster design, I 've got some LED's on order which should be in soon, and would love to throw that design in instead of the boring grey. Any chance of emailing your design? Also loved your LED's in your window switches, may do this too!!

Hey mate, does the kit form Snort sell everything you need to install it yourself? Then you need fuel pump, reg and bigger injectors?

I'm pretty sure the kits are sold with everything needed except the fuel pump.
Check out this thread, and perhaps contact Snort for a definitive answer. snort-performance-f68/snort-performance-eaton-m112-supercharger-kits-t104232.html |

Not yet. An issue arose and it's taken me a while to get things sorted out.
Easter weekend looks like my next real opportunity to refit the charger to the car, so in the couple of weeks following that it should make its way to a dyno. In the mean time I have been doing some redesigning of the charger adaptor plate in 3D CAD. The current one being a prototype of sorts has shown an area of weakness and some cracks have appeared. Realistically they're probably not that bad, but it's an excuse to make something else, and that's fine with me. I could get the cracks welded up, but I like billet things, so I will most likely be CNC machining the new plate in a friends shed. One huge bonus of getting the billet fuel rail is that the fuel rail can now be removed, if needed, without needing to remove everything else. |

Yeah unfortunately there is a lot of hours involved in that part of the job.
There is another solution though. It has taken a hell of a lot longer than I wanted it to but I am still on the path to making clear replacement lenses for this purpose. I will be making it known when I have them working. |

Awesome, because I just replaced my headlight assemblies and even with phillips +80s H4s, +50 H3s and aligning them properly, I'd still see better at night with sunglasses on holding a candle. |

Easter was the weekend to refit the blower, along with the new fuel system.
I decided I didn't like the black paint on the charger, so I cleaned it all off with wax & grease remover. In the down time I had the throttle body apart to see if I could identify what was causing it to stick, just off idle, and it looks like I have fixed it. I am yet to try it without the extra return spring, that's something for this weekend, when I can be bothered. There's still a few items to clear up before it sees dyno time. I need to remove the T/B and adjust the butterflies so they seal properly. I'm currently running with the ISC hoses crimped or else it idles at 1100rpm. With the ISC disabled, it idles at about 750-800 when warm and just stays alive at about 500 or so when cold. I also need to fabricate an idler pulley mount to get some decent belt wrap around the blower pulley. And I also want to get an oil-air separator setup on the crank case breather. Anyway here's some new pics. Last edited by MAD on Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:52 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
