Thanks for that link. All the other wheel repair places I found all said that no-one does it in Australia.
Only problem is that I'm in Melbourne. Shipping on top of re-chroming would definitely make it not worthwhile. |

what sort of paper did you print the cluster out on? and also does it have to be transparent paper that you print it on or does it not matter? possibly a stupid question but ohh well id like to do it for my car.

I dont remember exactly, but I think it was a kodak ultra premium photo paper. (it was what I had laying around)
I've recently used matte photo paper to print some photos at home, and I think it would work much better than gloss paper for a cluster. |

yehh id imagine it would be a little bit better as it wouldnt be so shiny, so the paper does not need to be clear/see through? for it to work

No, but if the paper is too thick, the light can be too dim.

Nice find. I wondered how they would look non-chrome.
They look more 'muscle car'ish in alloy finish. |

Wonder if you can acid dip them then polish them up - cheaper than Chroming

I was thinking I might get them dipped, paint the centre and polish the lip.
Not sure though. I havent priced either option, but I wouldn't imagine there beng much difference between the two options. There'd be a lot of hours in polishing them. |

Pearly does do a good job on the photos, he got some good snaps from the cruise for charity last year. It's a bummer I don't live closer to Narre Warren, I'm over Preston side of town. Might have to put down one day. |

A few updates:
1) The chrome wheels are on ebay, auction finishes tomorrow. I decided I needed to stop collecting little projects that cost me money, and try to focus on projects that will make me money. 2)On the weekend I borrowed a friends shed and removed the current motor and swapped my original back in. (It's for sale in the F/S section) You may ask yourself "why?" My answer is, "you'll see soon enough." Something I've wanted for ages, something that will make me smile each time I hear it. Hopefully I'll have pics of it by the end of this week if ANZ and TNT don't stuff around. Does anyone know how I can slow down motor on that rig I made for spinning my rims? It's a little too fast for the sandpaper to work effectively. That's all for now. |
