currently fitted with a single spinner with i think 3.23 [? havnt seen a tag] at one stage ages ago i picked up a runner EA gli wagoon with a 5sp [everythin working too!] so some parts will be kept for the EB. overall the EB body's good, little bit of paint peel on roof.

yestaerday went to fit the diff outta the EA wagoon as its a lsd [only 2.92 but thats fine] but then found that ford changed the front of the diff

from this

Image

to this :(

Image

question
will/can i use the tailshaft from the EA wagoon instead of the EB wagoon?
what are the differances between an '88 diff to a '93 diff ie brakes etc etc

also is this a standard alloy wheel for this model? if not what model?

Image

the discs front & rear will be changed [along with the pads] plus a good cleanout inside.

the 'only' major problem i can see with the car is an oil leak at the front [yes little low on oil too] .... think its the seal for the balancer [?] would that be right? [has flung what looks like oil up the side of the batt, hoses, etc etc but only in that one line?] motor seems to run fine otherwise

what is needed to change that seal [if thats the prob] ie remove balancer, belts & ?? [hard ta see & take a pic]

also the cluster needs to come out & have the drive gear replaced [speedo -have them vdo] any probs i may encounter? things i may need?

was gonna fit the motor/box from the EA into it BUT if the oil fix aint hard id prefer to leave the current motor/box combo [ie wont get shiit stirred about pullin the 4ltr & throwin in the 3.9] & throw the wagoon motor/box into the EA sedan as its the older 3sp auto version & wont need the comp played with

thanks all

I can only help on the wheels at this stage but they are not wheels that came out on the EA/EB/ED they are the factory EL Fairmont wheels which actually look quiet nice with the colour of the wagon.

Cheers

yes you can use the ea wagon tailshaft in the eb when using the ea diff..
the brakes are the same from ea to ed, the only difference internally in the diff are, the ea use 25 spline axles and the eb onwards use 28 spline axles..

with the 94ab on the head its either a late ed or ef engine or the head has been replaced with a late ed/ef head..

you can tell if its a later block, by looking on the drivers side lower rear of the block where the gearbox support bracket bolts, there should be numbers cast just behind that bracket..

are you 100% sure??

{DESCRIPTION}

check the far right first row pic & the 2nd row 1st pic

this 'appears' to be a '93 gli wagoon [has the same appearing cluster as my '88 gli wagoon [?] ... only thing that appears to be common is the steering wheel? i have the cluster thgats the same as my 's' & the '90 but i have similar/same aircon as the '88, '90, '91 Fairmont/Ghia's ???

ok i've just won a 'supposed '90 Ghia wagoon with electric sunroof :D & 5 EF alloy wheels
