calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'

Fellas, there is at least 30 to 40 hours of wiring changes that need to be made before you can just
'bolt in' an EF/EL dash.

I am happy to assist with advice, guidance and pinout diagrams etc, but the only 'bolt in' bit is the dash shell itself, and even that needs a couple of brackets fabricated.

And don't forget you WILL need an EL ECU to make the cluster work correctly.

Lets have a chat on Friday about it.

Cheers
BenJ

Well, Monty is running again, sounding quite good actually. Sounded hairy for the first5 minutes or so then settled down.

BUT

The power windows are not working, the door lock are not working, and I think I dropped a torx bit down the gear shaft recess.

Other than that, all seems ok...

More to come.

Well, George worked out the problem with the door locks and the power windows. Turns out there was a wiring harness hiding in the ginormous tangle at the back of the dash so we missed hitching up the locks and windows properly. There are no leaks, there's a new washer bottle in it, and the heater core has been replaced. I can safely say I don't wish to do this stuff again, and I did a lot less of it than George did. I should get over my fear of f**k it up, hey? LOL

Also, got the momo steering wheel on. Oh my, it feels good in the hands. Pity about the faded switches, but oh well, as long as it works. :-D And it does. :-D

Jobs still to be completed: Air conditioning regas, Thermo fans, EL mirrors, Sports exhaust (Thank Matt), console swaperoo, install my BRAND NEW GENUINE FORD AU CD CHANGER *bragging* plus amplifer, Serpentine conversion (when I find an ef/el that I can get the bits from)

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Nothing like a MOMO hey.
Good to see its going together well for you.
Might be able to hook you up with some Thermos as well. Just will need to see if Brett wants them first.

Smooth Peanut Butter is also good for fixing up your crappy white switches and buttons.

Cheers
