Looking much better Cam.
There is a set of rear Kings low springs here that originally came from Ash. I dont remember how or why exactly but they wound up in the back of my ute one day and have been there ever since. Your welcome to come up and grab them if you want them.

{USERNAME} wrote: Hahaha, you still got them? They were out of an XE sedan. RD was after some, can't remember why and I thought he could try them to see if they would do the job. Yeah they are still here. Hopefully Cam can get some use out of them.

He said he already had some rear springs but these may suit the new front ones better. Always better to have more options. Hey EVL, Thankyou for the offer. If the springs I have don't seem to quite fit, I'll keep you in mind, ok? Of course, if you pass them on to someone else in the meantime, thats cool too. Small update for everyone, I may be coming into a polynesian green driver's side guard soon so I'll be able to drive around a car which is all one colour. YAY. Time will tell though. |

Hey dudes,
Those of you who have seen my Monty in pics or in person know its a bit haggard looking given the three tones around the front (the main polynesian green, the silver bumper and everglade guard). Well, not for much longer. Today I was able to aquire a front bumper bar and a guard both in polynesian green for $55. The guard is from a ghia and has pinstriping on it. The bumper bar has a few holes which have been drilled in it by the previous owner, but nothing that can't be filled in and fixed up. I am not dumb enough to think the colours will match perfectly, but at least they're still the same colour. So very soon I will have a car which is all one colour. YAY. I wont be bringing it this Friday night to the Liverpool meet, I wanna wait until its all done before I show off my new wheels with the guard etc. Which reminds me. Brett, I have that ford badge for you. Edit: 9/12/09 8:20pm AEDT: I was also able to get a hold of some EF mirrors for the beast. Piccies will come when they're on. |

Ok, here goes (deep breath) [third time lucky? LOL]
George and I put the new guard, bumper bar, 4.0L badges, driver's side moulds, Fairmont badge, ABS sticker and bumper stripe all on Monty over this weekend, interspersed with George replacing the mufflers in Lucifa. I also cleaned the passenger side headlamp lense and I installed a replacement trip computer since the lights in mine are all gone. I also want to replace the automatic airconditioning control panel for the same reason. Here are the piccies. It is funny how such a small change as putting the right colour guard on makes a HUGE improvement.
Well done. BenJ

Well, the last few days have been quiet. Nothing major has been done to Monty, but a couple of small things have been taken care of. Firstly, George changed the throttle body and ICS on the beast. Evidently, the ICS was not working at all. Whether thats related to it being on backwards, I don't know. George cleaned up the one from Eddy and put it in. Here is a composite pic of the throttle body whic was removed and the one which was put in its place:
Attachment: smthrottle.jpg Yesterday, I bought an EA9C684A to replace the ED9C684A. Before anyone gets too excited, its just the air tube from the filter box to the throttle body. Snore. LOL. Anyways, here are pics showing the difference. Why the hell Ford decided to change to a pipe which allowed less air through is beyond me. Attachment: smDSCF2078.JPG Attachment: smDSCF2086.JPG Yesterday afternoon when the rain buggered off, George spent some time making up a template for the EF mirrors to be put on. Gonna look nice with them. Next major thing to be done to Monty will be either the lowering, or the heater core. We spent about an hour and a half (maybe more, I was having fun) removing the heater core from Eddy. I was amazed at the amount of time and work it took to get out such a small piece of the puzzle.
