Hi guys and gals.

I had an ED Futura going by the name of EDDY in another thread. Since then, I've discovered that there may be a registration issue with it, so I would now like to introduce you all to Monty, my ED Fairmont. 1994 model (about two weeks younger than EDDY) 165000 odd kms on the clock. :)

As you can see from the photo, the front guard has been bashed in. Thats already been changed, though we found out after receiving the new guard that it wasn't the same colour. Pics to follow. The front bumber bar was butchered at some point, so EDDY donated its bar. So now I have a Polynesian green Fairmont with an Everglade guard and a silver bumber bar. LOL.

I bought genuine XR front flasher assemblies (PapaSmurf thinks I'm nuts. 8-) ) which have been put in. I created a wiring harness to allow me to use the parking lights in the assembly along with the ones in the headlight.

I want to find a way to put an XR grille and headlights on the front so that Monty can look really sexy. Pity XR lamps don't come after market.

I'm not planning on getting rid of the turbo blades at this point in time.

I hate the chrome mouldings so I'm going to swap them with EDDY and have the red stripe in it. As you can see from one of the piccies below, I've already changed the fender flasher lenses to the ER 13K309 B which I think looks a million times better. Anyway, time for piccies:

Testing out the flashers. Gee they look good.

Looks kinda evil like this hehe.

Monty with the new guard and EDDY's bumper bar. I find the bar contrast to the bonnet frighteningly appealing. LOL.

There were financial interests still registered against it. Not enough in and of itself to be a problem, but I can't afford 800 bucks or more just to then find out I am unable to keep it. Mechanically, there wouldn't have been an issue, I believe..

Oh, and another thing I want to do to Monty, I bought a spoiler from Troyman to go on the back. Just need to paint the thing first. :)

The boy has forgotten to mention that the OLD Smurf person has been working on this car already, 2 rear door Actuators, 1 Guard and Front bar and 1 NEW headlight.
The other ED will now be the Donor for the Mont, it has upper control arm brackets that have longer bolts on them and the shocks have been renewed in it as well. So they will be transfered as will the tyres off the EDDY machine. They have about 95% tread on them and I think will look MUCH better on the Turbo Blades.

The Exhaust on the EDDY car will be a transfer I think as well, it has a nicer note and will fill the bill. I think I will have to change over the Radiator too, the EDDY car must have had it changed not too long before it bit the dust.

Thanks Papa, I couldn't remember everything that has already been done to Monty and everything it needs, and you looked busy last night. :)

Good Stuff Guys.

The Monty is a much better base to work off with all the factory goodies.

That spoiler you got off Troyman, is it red? If so, that was on my old Red EB. I love it when parts move around the Forum.

Cheers
BenJ

Here's hoping we can find Polynesian Green. Don't much fancy a black spoiler. LOL

Small update, Cam was able to pick up a pair of BF headlights so, I am going to look into the mod that Ben did and try it out, we do have a spare set of ED headlights. :)

Cam also got a rod that we are going to use to add the EF gear lever know and so I will be making this fit soon as, I did the same thing on my OLD EB but I use a screw and chopped off the head :D slack huh?
We changed the Auto oil and filter last week, the consistency of the oil was like Treacle and smelled like old shoes. :D

Piccies will be up soon as the work is under way. :)

Changed to Gearbox seal today and f**k were those tailshaft bolts hard to undo
.
I changed the gear knob and made a rod to do the job, I used a battery clamp bolt, cut it to 17cm and did the bend in it like the original but I had to thin the rod down a bit at the top, too fat. :D
Got it in though and so now it has the EF auto gear knob.

MiniSmurf will have to take pics tomorrow when he gets back so you all can see. :)

My biggest problem Ash is that I have Arthritis in my left shoulder and Bursitis in the right one, makes it hard and I am getting WAY too old to do this rolling around on Concrete....

I think that one or more gearbox solenoids may be RS too.. bugger.
