MMM, well no plans for tomorrow, so it cant hurt now that ive done it before i cang et it off with out trail and error of how to do it. If it spins when im holding it thats a bad thing right, because that means its not spining the cog, ect, ect, no speedo, got it.

Before i go to that extent i might put the old brown cog from my space auto on the ground and put that in and see if it wants to work.

Then worse comes to worse ill chuck the damn T5 in :D i hope it doesnt need a rebuild. the guy reckons he spent $1200 on it but we couldnt get the EA running to test the box.

Thanks for your help, ill get back to you guys tomorrow night.

Regards,

Michael.

Its been a while,

But jumped in the car one day and the speedo decided it would like to work now so all is good.

Looking into the future, once i make the 5 hour round trip ill get rid of a wrecked fairmont i got the power windows ect from and bring back an EL hybrid engine.

Once ive got the here ill give it a birthday clean it up rebuild if needed and bolt the T5 to it. then ill deceide wether i want to put it in my car or by anotehr shell because mine has pretty bad rust.

I would love a clean shell that i could paint outside plus engine bay ect, then slowly build that car up but keeping the other car on the road as long as possible or untill the new one was ready to register.

I know it may seem like im all talk but with no job i really have to watch the bank account.

Regards,

Michael.

With one phone call tomorrow the date should be set for this friday to be the day i get rid of the wreck and pick up my EL hybird engine.

Hey Mitch,

Yes i picked up the motor along with a list of parts on friday, very happy with trade except i was given an Auto ecu (6DBB) and not a Manual one (6TAC or 6DAA). I got rid of that old Peac0ck EBII Fairmont after i removed the interior, electric windows and some other parts.

This is the trade that was made,

Engine
EL hybrid

BBM conversion parts.
EL manifold (non polished)
EL fuel rail
EL Injectors
EL fuel regulator
EL accelerator cable
EL intake piping
EL dipstick tube
EL air-box
EL bbm vacuum release solenoid
EL top radiator hose
AU Upper and lower thermostat housing
Modded BBM wiring to suit ED

Serpentine belt parts
EL belt tensioner
EL/AU P/S pump
AU alternator
EL/AU A/C compressior
EL/AU timing cover case
EL/AU h/balancer
EL/AU water pump

Engine to gearbox manual loom
Au intake snorkel non tickford :(
EL non xr6 Manual ecu code 6DAA this is what i wanted but got 6DBB which is normal EL auto ecu

Trade for EB2 fairmont plus deleivery($100 trailer hire plus fuel)
old Gli interior seats and door trims
Engine auto diff

The engine is going to need some cleaning up big time as it hasnt been stored well alot of holes have been unsealed for a while and theres even a couple of holes on the sump with mudwasp nests sigh. looks like im going to have to pull the motor down, clean and paint it up. O well it will look like new eventually. Im currently out of work so mods are really on hold i just cant afford to spend my savings on the car untill i have a stable income. Once ive got that ill be looking for a decent ED body shell to put the EL hybrid, EA T5, EB fairmont interior ( which will get some sexy retrim like rushed i think it was), but before all this goes in ill will get a paint job as well as engine bay ect. I may even look for a Wrecked EL of a sort to steal the dash and interior and engine looms, but havnt made my mind up with what i want to do. all in all i jsut need an income before work goes ahead.

Anything sold in my sale thread goes towards the car and gets me that bit closer, plenty of stuff there,

Thanks for your interest,

Regards,

Michael.

Dont need a spare one from wreckers? I didnt want a polished one thats why i had non polished there.

When i build my car the engine bay will be either a clean alloy black or black plastic an overall clean look. No chrome, i just dont like it, i wouldn't even buy chrome rims.

Michael.

Cmon man, if you got beef with the kid PM him or fill your own thread with crap.
Leaving a comment like that is worse than what he did at least he was asking about the car.

Michael.

Bored Bored Bored today.

In order of preference, was going for about an 18 or 19. I think abit of profile suits the E-series.
