By the way, I'll PM you my address to have the motor and box freighted to me. Shouldn't cost much |

Ah the Lane Nothing new at this stage. Gave it a polish and a new coat of wax for the big cruise in Sydney this weekend, but that's about it. Still runs and handles like a dream, so why spoil it by getting carried away with big power mods........let's face it, the big a** b**ch is never gunna be a winner on the drag strip
As for the motor and box from the LTD.........hahaha very funny! Never heard that one before! I will still pull it out and see if the motor is salvagable, but if not, it's gunna make a great conversation piece as a coffee table

Awesome!
I love the stylized drawings on the cover too. Look, 18" Turboblades! Should price up a set of genuine headlight covers, I reckon they look the goods on a clean example like yours, really add something to it. |

Crappy weather here today.....had to finish polishing and servicing the Lane in the carport, but she's all ready for the big run to Sydney tomorrow. Even fitted the free headlight protectors I received this week........very discreet, hardly notice they are on
Now hopefully this friggin rain goes away........long way to go just to get stuck in the car. Ah well, at least we will be comfy

NCIILANE wrote: Now the painstaking task off cleaning the rest of the sikaflex off........anyone have ony tips on an industrial solvent or the like to get this s**t off??? A stanley knife blade works well.NCIILANE wrote: Once they are cleaned up, I will have to start the whole process off again by removing the original ones from the lane so these can be put in their place Ordinary garden variety stainless kitchen cutlery knives work well - you can bend angles on the blades (even 90 degrees)sharpen on a grinder, clamp with vice grips, and away you go, have a water spray bottle to lube the blade occasionally. Work better than the proper tool IMO.You will need sika activator, sika primer (to touch up bare metal nicks on the car), and sikaflex 255 extra. All up, around $80 -$100, so if that's all the glass that needs doing, probably an option to take the car and glass (clean and ready to go) to a windscreen place. ford-bodykits-f15/re-fitting-rear-side-windows-on-a-wagon-t98136.html

Well.....never a dull moment around here
The wagon spent some time this morning on the back of a flat bed towtruck......but it could have been much, much worse! The front left wheel bearing has practically disintegrated while the wife was on her way to work this morning. Received a call from her just after 8am, unfortunately I was 2 hours away in Muswellbrook, and she was pretty shaken up. She was in the left lane approaching the end of the merge lane when the front wheel collapsed.....sending her spearing off to the left with no brakes.....and in the wet Luckily she had the sense to rip on the handbrake (thank god for the EF conversion!!!) and pulled up side on to a telegraph pole. She was only doing around 60k's at the time....hate to think what would have happened if she was 100m up the road in the 80klm zone! I am now left scratching my head about how it happened......never heard of a wheel bearing exploding like his one! Anyway, I organised for a tow truck to pick her up and all are home safe and sound now. I got home from work a couple of hours ago and jacked her up to assess the damage.......I think we were very lucky this time
